So, I know that I mostly show photos of my outfits when I’m either done up or at least showered and look decent. However, I also think that from time to time, it’s important and sort of fun to show another side of myself that I think everyone can relate to. This would be the me that throws on my most comfy outfit, tosses my hair up haphazardly and just doesn’t care. I’m pretty sure we’ve all had those days, so, I give you my outfit from Friday.
The day began with me waking up and cleaning/organizing all day. I purged my room of old clothes, organized stacks of paperwork, did laundry, and cleaned up the bathroom. As for the clothing…I love the sweatshirt I’m wearing because it’s from where my Mom went to college—UC Santa Barbara—and to make it a bit more wearable, I recently cut off the neck and sleeves to give it an 80’s edge. My jean shorts are made from a pair of my Dad’s old Levi’s, and my flops are my very favorite pair of Havaiana’s that I bought in Paris and have now had since 2002. They are falling apart, but still so comfy. Anyway, this is me when no one’s looking. : ) Oh and the fro-yo in my hand? Yes, well I love to buy frozen yogurt and cover it with lots of yummy toppings. It does not help that instead of having to walk about 4 blocks to the nearest self-serve yogurt shop, there is now one across the street from my apartment. Hmmmm… that could be problematic.
Anyway, with that side of me out in the open, I now give you the me that is actually showered, slightly makeup-ed, and all dressed up in heels. I am loving this electric blue silk blouse that I just got from F21. I haven’t been shopping in a while, besides at the Zac Posen party, and it was just my luck to come across this little beauty. I wore it out to a casual dinner with a dear friend but opted to style it very simply with few accessories and no layers. I also made the decision to match my shoes to my clutch, which can be a big no-no in my book, but honestly, when you have such a bright blouse that overpowers everything else, sometimes it’s best to just opt for everything else to be more on the neutral side. That is unless the goal of the outfit is all about bright pattern play or bold color combination, then you have every permission to go nuts! : )
Alright, off to do more work! Also, I know this post is text heavier than usual, which can be overwhelming at times, so thanks for reading! I’m always so appreciative of you, my dear readers. xoxo
