Take 1…
Losing it…
That’s a wrap.
Lindsey, me, Keiko and Bobby, before the panel.
Before the panel began, the four of us and the team at Sparkle Beetle (they are truly amazing) went to this yummy place called Capdeville and munched on fried red rice and beans and ham and cheese fritters. Yum. I don’t generally eat a lot of fried things, but I threw caution to the wind while down in Nola and tried everything. So. Good.
The panel, which took place at the Martine Chaisson Gallery during NOLAFW, was called “Creating a Compelling Voice.” It was absolutely invigorating for me. I’ve never spoken on one before and found myself extremely comfortable speaking to a large group. I think it helps that the questions were organic and natural and the I knew the topics at hand inside and out, but still. I loved every minute of it. The audience was fantastic and the room was filled with this amazing energy.
What I loved, was that we were all there to support and help each other by having this really great, open conversation about a mutual love: blogging. I was able to speak to some of the girls afterwards and they were all lovely and personable. I wish I would have taken more photos of the audience. Everyone was so well dressed and put together! So, thank you to everyone who came out, it was truly an amazing experience for me.
After dinner (I swear all I did was eat my way through this trip) we headed to Ste. Marie for a celebratory cheers and post catch-up session. The food, once again, was outstanding, but the company was even better.
The week recap isn’t over yet, so make sure you keep checking back this week. Lots of fun stuff lined up!
