Yesterday, I headed to the Upper West Side to cheer on one of my friends, who ran in the New York Marathon. I have always been horrible at running so I’m constantly amazed and impressed by people who choose to do it on purpose. More power to all those people. Seriously. But, it was great fun to see all the runners pour out into the street as they finished, and also seeing so much of the city come out to support them.
Side note: I spent my first year in New York on the UWS, but since I don’t get up there much anymore, it was really fun to visit my old neighborhood haunts and reminisce about my early days in the city. And even though it was fairly chilly, and sometimes downright windy, the sun was still shining and the leaves were auburn and gold, making it the perfect fall day.
