Happy Monday! Did everyone who lives on the east coast survive the freezing weather this weekend? I spent most of Saturday cuddled up on the couch, watching movies and eating pizza with my best friend from college who was here visiting from Seattle. Because, when it’s 18 degrees outside, I find it more relaxing to browse the web looking at outfits I can wear in 70-degree weather and planning mini trips to warmer climates, instead of venturing outside and freezing my face off.
Luckily, I’m getting a little reprieve from this cold snap and heading to New Orleans in just over two weeks. (I will be hosting a fun styling workshop while I’m down there but more on that later!) Whenever I head to the south I find that my style steers away from anything black and edgy, and instead I’m drawn to more girly, feminine pieces in pastels. I think it has to do with the fact that when I’m down in Nola, there are brightly painted houses, remnants of Mardi Gras decorations and amazing architecture everywhere you look. It truly inspires me in a way different than any other town or city I’ve visited.
The south is a charming and special place, and I hope to keep exploring and visiting other towns such as Nashville and Charleston sooner than later, but in the meantime, in lieu of my upcoming trip, I decided to create a few outfits that I could see myself wearing while I’m down in the bayou.
