This past weekend, for those of you just catching up, was spent in Charlottesville, Virginia for my good friend Rachel’s wedding, which was held at her family’s vineyard. But before the actual festivities began, my friends and I had a couple days to explore the area, and of course we went wine tasting! We only visited a couple wineries, but they were really great and the property and views were spectacular.
First up was Glass House Winery. We tried their Viognier, which was great, and sat down by the water on their dock.
After some relaxation in the sun, we ventured onto Moss Vineyards and sipped on their rosé, which was also really lovely and refreshing.
Me and Emily, goofing off.
My Saturday was spent at the City Market in downtown Charlottesville, where I indulged in a really tasty bagel, egg and cheese and enjoyed looking at the pretty produce and flowers.
I didn’t get to actually eat at The Whiskey Jar, but heard it’s great. If you’re ever in the area, check it out and let me know what you think!
Saturday night, we all headed to Ankida Ridge Vineyards (my friend’s husband’s vineyard), where we had to be taken up to the house (and later on the vineyard) by a tractor. Yes, I sat on a bale of hay in my dress, which was pretty amusing, especially because the ride was up a steep, steep hill. I had to use my oblique muscles to keep from falling sideways, ha!
Perfect comfort food.
Such an amazing weekend over all. Congratulations Rachel and Nathan!
And to you my dear readers, thanks for reading as always. It means the world to me.
Happy Tuesday! xo
