Whenever I come home to Seattle I always head down to where I grew up, which is an area called Richmond Beach. I love walking all the way down to the beach, sitting on the sand and taking in the expansive view. But I also love standing at the top on the bluff, which is so breathtaking.
The thing about Seattle is, it can be stunning with its surroundings, but it can also be gray, rainy and kinda gloomy, which can make it very hard to take outfit photos! It can be drizzling (or pouring) one minute and then all of a sudden there will be a sun break.
So when I got up the other morning and put this outfit together, I wasn’t quite sure if my new suede boots would get ruined (seeing that we had a torrential downpour the day before) or if I would luck out and hit a sweet spot. Luckily, by the time we arrived at the overlook, the clouds had started to part, the sun began to shine through, and the different contrasts and dimensions of the sky were silvery and calm.
(I use Kiwi Suede Protector to protect my suede boots during the winter months.)
Rainy weather or not, I love these suede over-the-knee boots because I have been on the hunt for a nice dark gray color that I can wear year round (minus summer). Right now I think these boots will be perfect to wear over jeans or leather pants, but I can also see rocking them with tights and a cute skirt, a long skirt or a fun flowy dress in the spring. My Dad getting the perfect detail shot. :) He’s the best.
Anyway, we snapped a few photos of me for old times sake in front of my favorite backdrop and I was so taken with how my outfit blended perfectly with the sky! I kid you not, it started sprinkling shortly after we finished. Oh, Seattle.
