I first wore this dress back in 2013 and remember thinking that I wished I had some type of shapewear to slip on underneath, but unfortunately everything I owned at the time either didn’t lay well or felt awkward and uncomfortable.
The thing is, I don’t always love a tight body con dress. I am usually in boyfriend jeans and a button down, but when it comes time for me to pull out the fitted LBD, I want to know that I have the perfect shapewear to support me just where I need it. So, flash forward three years later (last week to be exact) and it’s smack dab in the middle of holiday party season. You know how it goes, we all want to look and feel our best when we get dolled up for these types of festive gatherings, so when I went to slip on my trusty LBD for a party last week, I finally had the shapewear to match.
The Comfort Devotion Hi-Waist Half Slip by Maidenform not only fit perfectly underneath my super tight dress but it also allowed for me to wear my own bra (which is super helpful seeing that I am a 32DD). The slip comes up super high, right below your underwire in fact, and has adjustable straps to help it stay up without interfering with said bra.
I’m pretty obsessed with buffalo plaid and I found this great scarf at J.Crew Factory a couple weekends ago when I was shopping at Woodbury Commons. Here are a few others that are super cute and affordable!
