It’s been almost two years since we’ve visited our friends, Kristen and Ray, at their beautiful home in Marblehead, Mass., so when they invited us to their summer BBQ we jumped at the chance. I was lucky enough to borrow a car from my friends at Ford and before we knew it we were off for a quick weekend getaway. To read and see more, click below…
We headed out of town around 11 on Friday and unfortunately it took us seven hours to get there because of traffic! It should have really only take five at the most. :/ But trust me, it was so worth it! Immediately upon arriving, we dropped our bags and headed out to their beautiful garden for some rosé and a yummy cheese plate. They also have three cats so of course both Casey and I were completely in heaven.A mini castle and our awesome blue Ford Escape! On Friday night it was still so hot outside so we all decided to go down to this dock and dive off! It was a bit chilly but felt so refreshing especially after sitting in the sweltering heat with no breeze. The entrance to our friend’s adorable house.Fresh mint, which I put in my water everyday. And fresh raspberries from their garden, which tasted amazing.Their lovely patio and equally love cat, Truman. Our room for the weekend. :)Where we spent the majority of our time, barbecuing, swapping stories and playing with their three cats. This is Winston, one of their three cats. :)From left to right: Winston, Clinton and Truman. :)Photos by me and our friend Ray
It was a fantastic weekend and felt so good to see our friends, especially after it had been such a long time! Sometimes you need a little getaway to feel refreshed and ready to take on the week, you know? If you are ever in the Boston area and have some time to explore, drive a bit further north to Marblehead – you won’t regret it! xo
