I’ve been a fan of Forever 21 for over ten years now and have watched it grow and change from a place where I only bought my “going out” clothes to now what is a multifaceted store that offers everything from lingerie to pencil skirts and more. I have learned to shop their various stores, no matter how big or small, and spot and pick out really cute things that otherwise might have been overlooked. So when Forever 21 asked me to create three looks that illustrate parts of my everyday life, I was of course up for the challenge. I headed to the gigantic four-level store in Times Square and got to work. I thought about what the main aspects of my work life are and decided to start with what I would wear to a professional meeting in midtown. I knew I wanted to feel polished and put together so I oped for a really great pencil skirt as my starting point and went from there.
I picked a black and gold statement necklace to add a bit of boldness to this basic button down and to draw out the darker details in the skirt.
I kept the bag and shoes a neutral color to bring more attention to the bold, printed skirt.
This classic blue button down is very versatile and I love that I can dress it up for a meeting and then later on in the day, pair it with white jeans and sandals for a more casual look.

Forever 21: Necklace / Shirt / Skirt / Shoes / Bag (old but here is a similar style)
Style Tip: I realize that for those of you who work in a more traditional work environment, a brightly patterned skirt and open toed shoes may not be appropriate. If that is the case, or if this much print feels a little scary, I would suggest simply swapping out the skirt for a deep navy blue pencil skirt, and making your shoes the focal point. Try a pair of pointy-toed bold pumps in a zippy color like citron or coral as your statement piece.
