The Coffee Spill

Good morning! So I have a funny little story to share about this outfit…

Yesterday, on my way uptown to meet Casey for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, I stopped into Starbucks to grab a mocha and get him a tea. I made it all the way up to midtown on the train without spilling a drop of coffee on myself, which was impressive, seeing that I was wearing all white. I was crossing the street at 8th ave and 50th street when I did a silly thing. I decided it was a genius idea to balance my almost finished mocha on top of his tea and TEXT. While walking. Genius right?

Why I didn’t finish crossing the street, put my coffee cup down and then text I have no idea. Sigh. Needless to say, my coffee toppled off and as I grabbed for it, I must have squeezed the cup, because it dumped all down the front of me onto my favorite white button down shirt, new jeans and bag. In complete shock, I managed to sort of pull myself together and make my way into a drugstore. I beelined to the Tide pens and used two of them on my jeans, and multiple hand wipes to clean off my bag. Miraculously the coffee wiped off my bag completely, I lifted the majority of stains from my pants, but the shirt was a lost cause at that point.

I allowed myself to fume for a few minutes, took a lot of deep breaths and then bought a three-pack of Hanes tank tops. Luckily I had a denim jacket in my bag, so I slipped it on over my new top and continued on to have Casey take these outfits shots. We also made it to see Jon Stewart, which made everything better. Once we got home, I washed my shirt in Clorox twice and I have to say, I just check it and it looks as good as new! Thank goodness for Tide to Go, Wet Ones and Clorox Bleach – these three products really saved my outfit.
