I wore this outfit yesterday to run up to 18th and Broadway to preview the new ED by Ellen (as in Ellen DeGeneres!) spring ’16 home and ready to wear collection. My favorite pieces were the gorgeous dark gray dinner plates, the indigo throw pillows and the marble cheese board, which aren’t available quite yet, but when they are I will be sure to share them with you! Afterward, I met up with a client for a quick chat about a new dress she is planning on wearing to an upcoming family event, before running home to meet up with Krystal to do some outfit shooting.
Styling Notes:
Originally I had on little ankle booties, but at the ED by Ellen preview, they were kind enough to gift me these gorgeous gray felt pumps, which I am obsessed with, so of course I wanted to wear them immediately. They are super comfortable too!
Can we also discuss this burgundy leather jacket? I spotted it at a Forever 21 preview last week and fell in love with it. It’s quite a bold shade but really pretty so I wanted to play off the richness of the color by pairing it with a scarf that had complimentary colors. It comes with a removable faux fur collar, which is the same color as the jacket. In this instance, I removed it, although I may wear the two together, but I actually think it will look really cool draped over a classic black overcoat for a dramatic touch.
Anyway, as you all know, this kind of outfit is my go-to look because it’s so easy to throw on and still feel put together. So with that said, I’m thinking about creating some collages recreating this type of outfit for you guys but in different color ways so you can also easily get the look!
