Whenever my friends plan a trip to NYC, the first thing many ask me for is a Times Square hotel recommendation. While I usually avoid the tourist spots in the city, I was recently introduced to Row NYC. Located on 8th Avenue at 44th Street, Row NYC is located just around the corner from tons of wonderful theaters and bustling restaurants, and a 3-night stay at the hotel completely changed the snarky opinion I held about Times Square. Here’s why it’s a great place to stay.
The Room
I loved the hotel’s contemporary style and minimalist rooms—especially my view of the Theater District. My room was on the 26th floor, which was great because it was super quiet. And as much as I enjoyed the view, I enjoyed the blackout shades that did an excellent job of blocking out the light so I could get some rest.
The Perks
If you’re looking for hotel perks, City Kitchen is an on-site food hall that offers an endless range of dining choices. Plus, District M, Row NYC’s chic cocktail lounge, is a great spot to relax with a glass of wine at the end of the day. The hotel also has an indoor spin studio, CYC, and a blow dry bar called Glam&Go, which is perfect if you want a little pampering before a night out on the town.
The Food
I was curious to check out the hotel amenities at Row NYC, such as City Kitchen, their awesome food hall. I tried almost all of the different vendors, but I think my favorite was the ramen from Kuro Obi. On my first morning, I headed to City Kitchen to check out the coffee situation, and got a latte at Dough while being tempted by their glazed doughnuts.
The Times Square Experience My stay at Row NYC coincided with a visit from my parents, so they stayed at the hotel with me. On our last night, we got tickets to the Broadway show Fully Committed starring Jesse Tyler Ferguson at the Lyceum Theater, just a short walk from the hotel. There are so many different Times Square attractions surrounding Row NYC, including B.B. King Blues Club, Madame Tussauds and an abundance of theaters boasting amazing productions every day.
All in all, we had an excellent stay and I can safely say I would most definitely recommend this lovely hotel to anybody visiting from out of town. Thanks again for hosting us Row NYC – we had a blast! xo
