On Friday afternoon, Casey and I hopped on a bus and headed to Boston for the 4th of July…
We got into the city around 6:30, got settled into our airbnb and enjoyed a glass of wine on the roof deck before heading to The Silvertone for dinner, which is an old favorite. Then on Saturday we spent the whole day walking around the city seeing every historical site you could think of, which was so interesting. His sister actually created specific notecards for our walking tour (26 to be exact!) and had perfectly timed pub stops for when we needed a beer and a snack break.
On Sunday we decided to check out Cambridge and visit Harvard during the day, which was so gorgeous, and at night we went to Sinatra Sunday at a place called Lucky’s Lounge. The guy that sings there is truly incredible and if you close your eyes, you feel like Frank is right there in the room crooning away.
On Monday we headed back to the city intending to hang with friends and watch the fireworks, but by the time we got home we were so beat that we decided to stay in with the cat and watch a movie. I know, I know! But it was pretty wet and rainy in New York so I was sort of happy to be inside just relaxing. I heard the fireworks go off and watched them on other people’s Snapchats haha. All in all, it was a great weekend and even though we didn’t watch the fireworks in person, I felt pretty patriotic with all the history we took in while in Boston.
Here are a bunch of photos from the weekend if you’d like to see!Outside of Warren Tavern, named after Dr. Joseph Warren

One of the notecards that Casey’s sister made! Inside The Old North ChurchWhile walking around, we saw a guy wearing a tricorn hat complete with a white ponytail. We all looked at each other and immediately knew we needed to track down our hats to wear the rest of the day on our pub crawl! P.S. I am thinking about creating some mini city guides to a few of my favorite places I have visited (or have lived), including Boston, St. Louis, Seattle, Nashville and of course, New York! Would you guys be into that? Let me know in the comments!
