Last night (after 12 years of living in the city) I finally went to Shakespeare in the Park…
It’s been on my list of things to do and somehow I have just never gotten around to it! Probably because it takes a lot of patience and dedication to stand in line once tickets become available, especially since they are free, which is pretty incredible. So when Today Tix sent me an email about seeing if I wanted to join them backstage for drinks and apps before the performance of Troilus and Cressida, I jumped at the chance. I’ve used Tix Today to get theater tickets before when I took my family to see Fully Committed, and it was such an easy and effortless transaction. Everything from ordering the tickets on the app to picking them up from the friendly person standing outside of the theater in a red shirt, who happily handed off our tickets to us. Anyway, I was excited to use them again for this great experience in Central Park and it was so cool to see excellent theater al fresco.
Here are a few photos from the night…
(Sorry there aren’t more, but we weren’t allowed for obvious reasons to take photos once the performance started.)
I know that I am out of focus, but I wanted to show how close we were to being backstage before the show began. So cool!
It was SO hot yesterday – just straight up oppressively muggy that all I could bear to wear was this little dress I bought from Reformation a couple of years ago. By the way, that’s Belvedere Castle behind me!Me and Emily!
If you live in New York, I highly recommend going to Shakespeare in the Park at least once if you can. Click here to learn how to get tickets.
P.S. This post was not sponsored, I just wanted to share my experience with you guys about something really fun that you can do in New York during the summer. Today Tix did reach out to me and helped faciliate tickets (however they are always free for everyone), but please know that I only write about things on here that I truly love or believe that are worth sharing with you guys. xo
