Oliver Peoples Sunglasses (borrowed from Casey) | Forever 21 Flannel (I just bought it this in the store but can’t seem to find it online. Here is a simiar style in a pretty light blue.) | Levi Shorts (These are my Dad’s old jeans:) | ModCloth Boots (gift – similar) | Madewell Bag | Bluestone Lane Coffee
I have been thinking about transitional outfits lately because slowly but surely it’s beginning to cool down and it’s definitely getting darker earlier, which is a clear sign that summer is signing off soon…
This outfit is something I wore to grab coffee the other day with Lydia and I wanted to share with you guys how you can pair “fall forward” items like a flannel and ankle booties with a super summery item like cut off denim shorts. I would say this outfit is perfect for those days where it’s more like 70 degrees with a slight breeze. I added my merlot Madewell tote for a bit of color play, which I think adds some much needed depth to a transitional type of outfit. This flannel is a perfect example of something I found while I was killing some time at F21 between appointments and to be honest, I am not even sure it was in the right department, but I saw it hanging on a rack and snapped it up. It’s incredibly soft and I love how the colors are muted, which will ease nicely into the fall.
Note: This is NOT a sponsored post, I just really like Forever 21. :) I even talk about it in my latest F21 haul video, how I love to wander around in the store during off hours and uncover hidden gems. Thank you for always supporting this blog whether the post is sponsored or not – I appreciate you guys so much!
