Homemade Paella

Hey you guys! I’m still in Spain and enjoying every second. I have been taking pictures like crazy and am planning on doing a round up of everything soon, but wanted to pop up a few photos from yesterday of the homemade paella our Spanish friends made for us. It was amazing – packed with mussels, prawns, calamari, clams and pieces of fish. It really was a treat to have it prepared specially for us and with a homemade recipe that has been been passed down through generations.

Can you believe we’ve already been here for almost a week? We fly back on Wednesday, which seems to be approaching way too quickly, so instead I’m not going to think about it and instead live in the moment and really enjoy the rest of my time here. Malaga, Here We Come!

Hello and happy Monday! I know I usually put up an “Over the Weekend” post on Mondays, but this weekend was spent packing and getting ready for our trip to Spain, so there wasn’t anything too interesting to photograph. Instead, I want to share these two photos of Malaga, taken by my friend Andi, who is living there for the summer, and who we will be staying with for the next ten days! I can’t wait to spend time at the beach, eat good food and explore this beautiful little beach town.

Summertime in Nashville

Hi y’all! (Yes, I am feeling very southern right now.) So, we’ve been in Nashville only a day and have already experienced great food and drinks at The Farm House, The Southern, Patterson House and Rolf & Daughters. Needless to say, it was a fantastic introduction into the bar and restaurant scene. It was a scorcher yesterday so this flowy maxi was a perfect choice for the 90-degree weather we were experiencing.

Today, we are hoping to check out Edgehill Cafe and the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, then eat dinner and maybe go bowling at Pinewood Social. Afterward, I am hoping to hear some live music at either the Listening Room or The Bluebird Cafe. I can’t wait and hope to get some great photos this weekend.xo

Nashville, Here We Come!

Hey y’all! I’m very excited to share that I am flying to Nashville today with my dear friends, Keiko, Helena, Lauren and Amanda! I am so excited for this long weekend away with these girls and can’t wait to take in the food, sights and of course, the music. We are renting a cute little house and have a great itinerary lined up thanks to the amazing Lauren. And lucky for us, Keiko has been there a bunch (her adorable cousins live there) and knows her way around, so I know we are good hands. However, that said, if you know of any hidden gems or amazing spots that we must go to, please share!

P.S. I happen to be a huge fan of the show Nashville as well as country music fan, so this is going to be HEAVEN for me. :)

Place des Vosges

Spent the day yesterday walking around the Marais and stopped off to admire the Place des Vosges, which is one of my favorite spots in Paris. Afterward I grabbed brunch at Les Philosophes, then spent the afternoon reading and getting some work done at a nearby cafe. I leave tonight to fly back to New York, which is always bittersweet for me when Paris is involved, but I feel so refreshed, inspired and ready to take on the holidays and new beginnings. Hope this week has been a happy and productive for everyone so far! xo

Lunch at Cafe de l’Époque

Just a quick hello from Paris! Quite the last minute and very spontaneous trip, seeing that I was just here a couple weeks ago, but the stars aligned and an opportunity presented itself for me to fly back, so I jumped at the chance to do so. I have some meetings lined up as well as shooting a few things for work, but I hope to find some time to relax and soak up as much of Paris as I can before I fly back on Thursday. black and gray

I can’t tell you how much use I got out of this faux fur vest while I was in Paris. I layered it under almost everything, and I loved how it added that bit of added luxe to every outfit.

Overall, I wore and remixed all the basic pieces that I brought, such as this pleated gray skirt (remixed here and here!) with tights, boots and my go-to black bag. I think it’s true what they say (or what I’ve come to believe) that when you pack for certain trips, it’s a good idea to keep your clothing fairly monochromatic. In this case, it was black, gray and navy, and it definitely worked for me. :)
