In the Streets of Paris

And the photos from Paris continue. This is the outfit I wore the day we had a picnic at the Eiffel Tower. I like the juxtaposition of wearing casual cotton shorts with a sequin tee. I felt comfortable but still cute, all day long.

After our picnic, we made our way to one of my favorite areas of Paris, the Marais, where we spent time at the Place des Vosges, wandered in and out of cute little boutiques, and snapped a ton of photos along the way. Eventually we needed to rest our feet, so we sat outdoors at a nearby brasserie and sipped on Cognac and Pastis. We ended our extremely full day by eating an excellent traditional french dinner of lamb and red wine before finally heading back to our hotel to rest up for the rest of the weekend.

A Sequence of Scenery

Warning: There are a lot of photos of me in this post, wearing the exact same thing, doing fairly similar poses, but I wanted to share them all because of the beautiful architecture that is surrounding me in every one. Such a phenomenal backdrop, really. So, you might get bored with me and my ensemble, but don’t let the scenery go unnoticed!

Debuting my new Sophie Theallet for Nine West heels. I met Sophie at a Nine West event the morning I left for Paris. She was lovely and we chatted all about my trip. Anyway, aren’t these beauties to die for?! I am not usually a “bow person”, but these shoes had me at hello—hook, line and sinker. Click here to see how Lindsey and Keiko wore theirs!

On our third day in Paris we did more exploring. I swear all we did was walk, eat, drink repeat. It was glorious. “A” and I had a general idea of where we wanted to go but no set plan, so we hopped on the metro and ended up spending the day checking out Les Halles, and the Louvre. Afterward we needed a nap, so we took a little rest on the grass nearby the Tuileries. Yes, I managed somehow to lay down and nap in this outfit.

I’ll admit, I wore these Gap sandals for most of the day, although my heels were actually very comfortable and easy to walk in. If it weren’t for all the cobblestones, I would have left them on!

We only stayed at our first hotel, which was located near in the charming area of St. Germain, for the first two days. So, as the sun was setting, we headed back to pick up our bags and head over to our second “home” of the week. This hotel was much more decadent seeing as we were lucky enough to stay along the Champs Elysees, thanks to “A” and his travel points. Once we got settled, this sweet little spread was sent up to our room. I could get used to this…

Brightly Striped, And Over The Moon

Day two in Paris. We were refreshed and ready to explore the city. I was over the moon to finally be in Paris, so I wanted to wear something that matched my mood. I chose this little bold ensemble, which was both bright and punchy. (I realized that the last time I wore this skirt I wore a similar salmon-y colored top.) Eventually after walking and walking for hours, we need sustenance, so we headed back to the our room, did a quick change and hopped on the metro where we got off at Maubert Mutualite— my stop when I lived in the Latin Quarter.

We sat for a bit, resting our feet, while I caught up on my French.

After a while, we strolled up Rue Mouffetard and found a perfect front row seat at a little brasserie to watch street performers, people watch and indulge in the yumminess you see above.

Eventually, we ended our night at a favorite little bar a few blocks away. As for my second outfit choice, I decided to keep it simple and wear my navy oh-so-comfy BeClassic t-shirt (first worn here) paired with white shorts, espadrilles and a pretty turquoise necklace. It was causal enough for hopping in and out of little bars along the way home but still polished enough so that I felt fun and flirty for our little night out in The City of Love. xoxo

A Real Girl In Paris

These photos were taken on our first night in Paris together. In my opinion, I look slightly out of it, but let’s just credit that to train travel. Apparently, my main focus was my new navy pleated skirt that I picked up in a little shop while in Notting Hill, called Appletree Boutique. I also bought it in a pretty light teal color as well, because I couldn’t decide between the two. Anyway, our first night in Paris, we spent it eating at one on my favorite brasseries, then wandering around the city for a bit before hitting the hay. I have to say, the longer we were in Paris, the better the ensembles became, so make sure to check back tomorrow for more! xoxo

On Our Way To Harrods

I’m finally back from our amazing trip to London and Paris and took so many photos it’s not even funny. I want to share every little detail, but instead of inundating you all, I am just going to share my trip through some outfit photos with a little commentary along the way.

So, we stayed with my best friend since I was 7, Allison, and her husband, at their flat for the first half of the trip. We had a great time exploring the city, seeing all the sights, eating a ton of yummy good and indulging in wines and tasty ciders.

These photos were taken by the BFF, while “A” checked out a few galleries around the corner. It was a fairly simple outfit, but I wanted to make sure I was comfortable for our long walk around Kensington and over to Harrods. We had afternoon tea there, complete with Jasmine tea and two huge trays full of crustless sandwiches and pastries. Did I mention we indulged a bit on this trip? Yes, we definitely did and it was amazing.

Freshly Styled and Ready to Fly

Thursday morning, I joined a a bunch of fabulous bloggers to attend an event at the Nine West store, to preview the collaboration with Sophie Theallet featuring her new collection. Here is the adorable Beth Jones, in town for 24 hours, waiting for me bright and early this morning, all set to head inside.

After the event, Lindsey and I went and grabbed a coffee before I headed off to get my hair cut and styled at Pimps and Pinups. They were generous enough to fit me in right before my trip, and Lizzie, my hairdresser was great. She gave my hair some great bounce and “umph” by adding lots of subtle layering. Once I was made-over, I went home, finished up last minute details before picking up “A” in a cab to head to JFK.

I love feeling pretty and fresh when traveling. It makes a long flight that much more bearable, don’t you think?

Gettin’ Outta Town

Exciting news, folks. This Thursday, “A” and I will be flying to London for a few days, then taking the train Paris for a little spring adventure. We will be visiting my very best friend, celebrating some important Birthdays and exploring everything these two lovely cities have to offer.

During my junior year of college, I studied abroad at the Sorbonne in Paris, then lived in London in between traveling to Spain and Italy. “A” being the expert and experienced traveler that he is, has shockingly never been to either city, so I am over the moon to share these two special places with him. I really can’t tell you how excited I am to be revisiting these two incredible and romantic cities, and of course to share them with the people I love.

***I have decided to “shut down” while abroad and will not be blogging during the trip, however I will still have new posts scheduled every day with lots of cute outfits and other neat posts that I have carefully been planning for, so as not to let the blog sit idle while I’m gone. So, make sure you still check back every day! And once I’m back and have uploaded the millions of photos from the trip, the blog will be on overload with lots of sightseeing and outfit goodies!***
