MSP Holiday Style Guide, Part Two: Bright Pink & Sequins

Outfit #3:

Continuing the week of holiday dressing! For these next two looks I went with bright and sparkly for a change of pace. I originally pictured myself wearing this bright fuchsia number in the spring but then I thought, why not wear it around the holidays for a fun twist versus opting for the typical black or red skirt!

Blazer: Forever 21 | Dress: Who What Wear x Target | Heels: Schutz (on sale – 50 percent off!)

Truth be told, this is actually a skirt! It didn’t fit me quite right so I played around with it a bit and decided to see what it looked like as a dress. (I linked to a bunch of cute sequin dresses below so you can get this look.) Instead of a black or nude pump, I chose a light pink heel for a pop of color.

P.S. Fun fact: I wore these favorite tassel earrings with each look, which is in champagne shimmer, but didn’t realize that the color would blend in so well with my hair! So I’m sorry if you can really see them very well but you can shop a bunch more colors here by clicking on the image below…

Breakfast Picnic in the Park

I’ve lived in the city for over a decade now and as much as I adore the hustle and bustle, I love carving out quality time for myself outdoors to reconnect, breathe and just have “me” time. Having grown up in the PNW, I was surrounded by the ocean, so my happy place is being by a body of water, which I find incredibly calming and centering especially when I am feeling a bit burnt out by the city.For this particular outing, I decided to head to Williamsburg and sit down by the waterfront, which looks out over the East River and is directly across from the city. I arrived early enough that the Smorgasburg crowd hadn’t arrived yet, so I had the park almost all to myself and could sip my hot coffee and read my book in peace. I love that there is also a little beach down below, which reminds me of home.As much as I love getting a coffee to go from a café, I have been trying to save money by making it at home, so when Dunkin’ Donuts® at Home approached me about their new Bakery Series coffees, I was excited to give it a try. Their Bakery Series has the best, most yummiest smelling coffee ever and it was hard to choose which one to try first, but I love Cinnamon Coffee Roll as a food, so I figured it would taste great as coffee too. I was right! The combination is a rich, delicious Dunkin’ Donuts® coffee meets bakery-fresh taste, which is basically the best of both worlds. It’s taken my basic coffee up a notch for sure. You can stop in at your local grocery store, and pick up one (or all six) of the fully baked flavored coffees and give your taste buds a treat. Pricing and availability varies, but you can search via their online store locator.With that said, I have created a little ritual for myself by making myself a cup of coffee with a dash of cream, and picking up an everything bagel with cream cheese to go. I grab whatever book I am currently reading – right now I am way behind and still trying to finish Amy Poehler’s “Yes Please” – and cozy up with a blanket on a bench by the river.

#eBayUnboxed

Hey guys! How has everyone been? With the holidays coming up, I am sure wish lists and gifts are on everyone’s minds, amiright? But I love surprising my friends and loved ones with early gifts, so when eBay asked me to partner with them on their new holiday campaign, #eBayUnboxed, I was so excited. I chose my friend Liz and picked out something from the site that I knew was on her wishlist as well as on their website. Did you know that more than 80 percent of their products online are new?! My Sunday Night Beauty & Sleep Routine

I wish I was one of those people that when their head hits the pillow they fall asleep immediately. But unfortunately I tend to be more of a night owl and hit my stride in the evening, finding it hard to stop and make myself go to bed a decent hour. But now that I am in my 30s, getting enough sleep is much more important to me than it was when I was younger, and seeing that it can be tricky for me to actually put myself to bed and get that important rest, I decided I needed to start somewhere and begin a weekly routine so that when Monday rolls around, I feel refreshed, hydrated, rested and ready to take on the week. So what better time to start than on a Sunday night, right? Here we go!

This week has been quite a doozy, amiright? I decided to take the past few days off from posting because I guess it just didn’t feel right sharing my regular content on here when everything felt so…discombobulated. And since I don’t know your political views, I will just speak for myself and say it’s been a very emotional, upsetting and shocking past few days. I considered writing a post on everything that has happened and how I feel, but instead I am going to let my dear friend Krystal who wrote this beautiful and poignant blog post, take it away.

Personal question for those of you on birth control. What are your thoughts on getting an IUD?

If you are suffering from puffy eyes or lack of sleep over the past few days, I highly recommend this eye gel, which is super soothing. I keep mine in the fridge so that it’s super cooling when I apply it.I was supposed to be in DC with White House Black Market on a two-day press trip, but I have been battling horrible stomach pains, so I ended up staying home. However, even though I couldn’t be there with them, I wanted to share two current favorite pieces from the brand that I have been loving. This red leather is just as vibrant in person and super soft, and I love how this blazer is perfectly tailored and has a great silhouette.
