Hey guys! So I’m currently in Italy right now (follow along on my Snapchat: mystylepill) but wanted to share these photos I took with Lydia last week, which demonstrate how much accessories can play a part in switching up the feel of an outfit. Click through to see the same tee and shorts but paired with ankle booties and a red lip…
Overalls & Stripes
Illesteva Sunglasses (similar style) | Forever 21 Striped Top | Zara Overalls (mine are old but here is a similar pair from ASOS) | Club Monaco Sandals (ON SALE NOW!) | Strathberry Bag (gift)
Can you guys believe it’s September 1st today?! Even though we are on our way to cooler weather, this is a bit of a fall forward outfit since it’s still very warm in New York. But I can’t help it you guys! The truth is, I love my overalls and can’t wait to start wearing them again on the regular. I styled this outfit around my new striped top that I bought at Forever 21 and I am kind of obsessed with it because it has a fun 70’s vibe plus it’s a striped shirt, so that’s always a plus in my book…Read more
Transitioning Into Fall With Forever 21
Oliver Peoples Sunglasses (borrowed from Casey) | Forever 21 Flannel (I just bought it this in the store but can’t seem to find it online. Here is a simiar style in a pretty light blue.) | Levi Shorts (These are my Dad’s old jeans:) | ModCloth Boots (gift – similar) | Madewell Bag | Bluestone Lane Coffee
I have been thinking about transitional outfits lately because slowly but surely it’s beginning to cool down and it’s definitely getting darker earlier, which is a clear sign that summer is signing off soon…
Getting Excited For Fall
I’ve already started getting invites for Fashion Week, which is quite the reminder for me that fall is just around the corner. I guess technically it’s not until September 22nd, but I am still getting excited at the thought of chunky knit sweaters, turtlenecks, booties, blazers and blanket scarves…Read more
Transitioning from Summer to Fall with Janessa Leone
Janessa Leone Panton Hat | Read original post here.
Over the past five years I have really grown to adore wearing hats. I always loved them from afar but never seemed to feel very confident whenever I put them on. But then I discovered Rag & Bone and Goorin Bros. and found the right fit and style that I felt comfortable wearing. Then fairly recently, within the last year or two, I started investing in Janessa Leone hats and haven’t looked back. They are on the pricier side, but if you are a hat person, they are totally worth the investment, trust me!
Soon enough we will be smack dab in the middle of transitioning into fall and eventually winter, so I thought it would be fun to show you a couple of ways to style a summery woven wide brim hat for the next few weeks, but also share a few of my favorite outfits where I wore my gray wool/felt hats, which will be more appropriate for the upcoming cooler months.
Here are a handful of my favorite outfits I’ve worn over the past year!

Summer Style: Transitional Workwear
I have been a fan of ModCloth ever since I started blogging, which was back in 2008. I eventually began working with the brand shortly after that (they even named a dress after me!) and they were the first company to run an ad on my site, which is so cool to think about. Needless to say I have a great relationship with them and am so excited to partner with them again! So let’s dive right in. Today’s topic is: workwear! Although I don’t technically have to go into an office everyday, I often have meetings with clients and brands, so when I need to look a bit more professional, I like to have easy, go-to dresses that I can slip on and look put together in minutes.
This dress is a perfect example because the striped pattern acts as the main focal point, allowing for simple accessories that can quickly be swapped out depending on what your post-work plans might be. In this case, I chose to wear these cute neutral booties (shop similar styles here) with the dress to give it an understated vibe that didn’t feel too fussy. But you could easily dress up this look by wearing open toed sandals and a clutch or dress it down by wearing cute flats and a leather tote.

And speaking of totes, this particular one is my new fave. I love that it has three separate compartments that comfortably fit my computer, iPad, wallet, camera and anything else I might need for the day. Plus I love the mixed materials of canvas and leather – it really gives the bag a polished feel.
I am always advising my clients on where to find great work pieces that are versatile and cute, so I would love to know where you guys shop for your work clothing? Are you familiar with ModCloth’s awesome workwear options? If you have a few more minutes, shop around the site to find some more cute shoes, tops and bottoms for the office!
This post was in collaboration with ModCloth and ShopStyle. As always, all opinions and styling are my own. Thank you so much for supporting the brands that support My Style Pill.
Summer Style: Jersey Knit Jumpsuit
With this crazy heatwave we have been experiencing in New York, I’ve hardly been able to bring myself to blow dry my hair, put on makeup or wear anything but a tank top and shorts. So to beat the heat, I’ve been embracing a more au natural look and only using a handful of beauty products, which include…
