Just received this gorgeous black cape and couldn’t be more in love with it. It fits really well and has just the right amount of structure and swing creating a beautiful silhouette. I can also see styling it with a camel turtleneck sweater, dark skinny jeans and a pair heels for date night with Casey.

I recently teamed up with NYDJ to create an outfit to share on Instagram, but I loved the pieces so much I wanted them share on the blog as well! My jeans, top and jacket are all from NYDJ and I loved the fit and style of each item. I also loved that I didn’t have to hem the flares because they were already the right length for me. That is a always win-win in my book!

Lately, New York has been a yo-yo as far as weather goes and it can be hard to dress for because, well personally I run hot, so either I get too warm but then immediately chilly! Does anyone else have this problem?
Anyway, it’s not a secret that layers are key when dealing with transitional weather, so for yesterday’s weather, which ranged from 57 to 62 degrees, I opted for a turtleneck sweater, a wrap scarf and a light-weight wool coat. I was able to add and subtract layers depending on the temperature so I was comfortable throughout the day.

I only own one other pair of over-the-knee boots, which are black, but have been in search of another pair that are not only comfortable but flattering. Then last weekend I swung into Schutz up on Madison Ave because I had a gift card, and saw these beauties. Needless to say I am pretty obsessed with them and can’t wait to style them with a pair of dark skinny jeans and an oversized sweater.

It’s no lie that the culotte pant is a bit of an intimidating trend to try out, but with the right proportions and styling, these cropped trousers can be really fun to wear. I found a high waisted pair I really liked from Zara, so I brought them home and gave them a try.
I do want to point out, that although technically culottes have been described as a shorter cropped pant that were made to look like a skirt, the updated versions out in the stores now tend to run anywhere from super cropped to the just below the knee or down to just above the ankle. Hope the helps clarify any confusion!
