art installations and apple picking
More photos from my trip upstate last week with Keiko and Ford! On the second day we headed to New Windsor to check out the Storm King Art Center, then finished up the day in Warwick, apple picking and admiring all the pretty orange and white pumpkins. xo

Last week I headed upstate with Keiko to accompany her on a fun roadtrip sponsored by Ford. We packed a lot into two days and have great pictures from all the gorgeous places we stopped. The fall foliage was striking and I can’t wait to share them with you. This batch was taken outside the Lyndhurst Castle (it was fully decorated for Halloween, which was super creepy and awesome) in Tarrytown, New York. You can also see a few photos I shared on Instgram here. Sending out a big thanks to Keiko and Ford for letting me tag along. I had a blast! xo

How are we already in the second weekend of October and I was able to wear this outfit just a few days ago and be perfectly comfortable? Indian summer I guess. I am definitely enjoying the the warmer temperatures but sort of can’t wait for that brisk breeze to whip into town and remind us that fall is actually here. I mean, I have so many new wool and felt hats that I am patiently waiting to wear! Seriously, hats, leather pants and blazers are all I want to wear right now but instead I’ve been wearing denim cutoffs and short sleeve t-shirts.
So this outfit has some nostalgia to it because this blazer (and bag) were originally my friend Alicia’s, who as many of you know, just moved back to California. Last week, I stopped by her place a few days before she left and she generously gifted me this gorgeous Rag & Bone blazer (with matching pants). Needless to say, I was blown away and promised to give these pieces a good home in my closet. Thanks again, Alicia – miss you so much already!
Here’s to an exceptional week! xo

Ray-Ban “Original Wayfarer” Sunglasses / White House|Black Market Instantly Slimming Dress (c/o) / Vince Camuto Heels (old) / Maje Leather Jacket (last season)
Happy Thursday! I hope you all have been having a fabulous week. Now let’s discuss this little black dress. :) I am sure many of you are aware of the fact that I don’t often wear extremely tight clothing or anything too fitted on the blog. So when White House|Black Market approached me about trying out their new “Instantly Slimming Dress” in this sleek black style, I was hesitant at first since I usually save tighter outfits for nights out where the lighting is dim and you can’t really even see my outfit. But this particular dress is known for its built-in shapewear under silky-soft stretch jersey knit and has a faux surplice neckline that begins a descent of diagonal tiers that encourage curves in all the right places. After hearing that, I decided to give it a go and I have to say, upon zipping up this little number, I instantly felt comfortable (the fabric has a lot of stretch and give) and not at all restrictive, which is saying a lot for a body-con dress! I also like how even though it is very fitted, the sleeves and length are a bit longer and the paneling across the dress flatters and fits well over my curves.

All in all, I can definitely see myself wearing this dress again in the near future, whether it’s paired with pearls and worn to a fall wedding or worn out to drinks with a leather jacket and snakesknin heels (shown above). Now I turn it to you guys! I’d love to know – what are you thoughts on body-con dresses? xo
