Wore my new favorite t-shirt and heels to grab a quick breakfast of coffee and eggs last week at Buvette with Lydia, Alicia and Natacha. I have to say these heels are incredibly comfortable and to be perfectly honest, I loved them so much, I just bought a second pair (as well as the black version) to have as a backup. I guess when I find something I love, that’s also comfortable, it’s a win win situation in my mind, right? Do you guys have any tried and true staples in your wardrobe that you swear by? Would love to hear! xo

Wore this to brunch in Brooklyn this past weekend where I enjoyed eggs over easy, biscuits and a side of grits – it was the perfect cold-weather meal. And when it’s freezing and snowing out, besides a hearty breakfast, I always gravitate towards oversized sweaters, worn-in jeans and comfy sneakers. In this case, I opted for my new varsity-inspired knit and kept the overall theme simple by sticking with black and white accents. Hope you’re week is off to a great start! xo
brunching in the bywater
Last week, Keiko, Bobby and I met up with some friends in the Bywater to brunch at the yummy Booty’s Street Food. Lucky for me, she was kind enough to snap a couple photos of my new yellow shorts before we ran back in to devour our waffles and eggs!

I’ve been in New Orleans since last Tuesday and had a blast per usual. The people, food and energy in that town is unbelievable and I loved every minute of my time down there, hanging out with all my amazing friends, old and new. The weather was balmier than in New York (thank goodness) so I welcomed these breezy dresses that arrived at my hotel room in the middle of my stay. Just as I was getting tired of what I brought with me, I had two new options to wear! I decided to do a fun and simple “day to night” remix with this dress, since that’s usually how I style my outfits when down in NOLA – easy breezy. This piece is actually from Amazon Fashion – in addition to their already vast assortment of contemporary lines, they just launched the Spring 2013 10 Crosby Derek Lam collection, which is full of lightweight dresses, cute printed tops and bottoms as well as stylish handbags, so definitely take a peek and see what you think!

There is nothing like yellow to brighten up the day, especially when it’s been gray and rainy a few in a row. Yellow has been my favorite color since I was a little girl, and even though I might have swayed a bit through my teenage and college years and claimed that periwinkle, was in fact, my favorite color, I am back to yellow. The bright and cheerful nature of it never fails to make me happy or bring a needed pop to any outfit, don’t you think? xo
