Just a few fun detail-oriented shots taken earlier this month, by Lydia Hudgens.
Due to Hurricane Sandy, I’m still in Seattle for the rest of the week, but for those of you that are back east, stay safe and dry! xo
here and there
Look 1: J.Crew Sweater (passed on to me by a client) / Zara Jacket and Shoes (they’re navy!) / Gap Legging Jeans (old) / Givenchy Bag / Charlotte Russe Bracelets / Top Shop Earrings
Just a mix of photos taken over the past few weeks, both in New York and Seattle, that I haven’t gotten around to sharing yet. A couple of the shots might not have the best lighting or be slightly blurry, but I liked the outfits regardless and wanted to share them with you anyway. And besides, this way, you get three looks in one!
Look 2: Ray-Ban Sunglasses / Madewell Shirt / HRH Necklace (c/o) / Zara Pants and Shoes / Lo & Sons “The Claremont” Camera Bag (c/o) / Bangles: Mix of Sorrelli (c/o), J.Crew, Madewell, Top Shop and H&M

The Kipling Diaries: A Day in the life
Zara Jacket and Boots / Old Navy Shirt / Rugby Jeans / HRH Necklace (c/o) / Kipling Celene Laptop Tote (c/o) / Bracelets: Charlotte Russe, C.Wonder, J.Crew, Tory Burch / Coach Watch
Since I work for myself, my day to day is constantly changing depending on what’s happening with certain projects, clients or stories at the time. And, since I don’t go to a traditional office, on days that I am at home, getting caught up on emails, I prefer to try and get out of the apartment and head to my favorite coffee shop for a change of scenery. But that requires lugging my computer with me, which always ends up being put in a random tote bag or my purse, which can’t be good for my beloved MacBook Pro.
So, when Kipling asked me to give their tech-friendly tote a try, I jumped at the chance. I love that it has lots of pockets and compartments for all my necessities, which helps me stay organized, while keeping my laptop away from anything that could scratch or bang it up. I’ve found it’s a much better option than shoving it into my everyday purse, which is full of things like keys, sunglasses, a pair of heels and my SLR camera. Yes, I’d say this trusty little tote is a much better option for my everyday life. (I think I hear my laptop thanking me as I type… :)

Ghostbusters
D&G Sunglasses (c/o ShadesDaddy) / F21 Necklace and T-Shirt / H&M Skirt (old) / Nine West Shoes (old/on sale) / Charlotte Russe Bracelets (c/o) / DVF Clutch (c/o – I think this color combo is fun as well)
What can I say, I like graphic, vintage-like tees, and having a sense of humor when it comes to fashion. :) Thanks Lydia, for snapping such fun and playful shots.
autumn leaves
ASOS Leather Jacket (here is a brighter version) / J.Crew Blazer and Necklace (similar version I almost bought) / Zara Shirt / Gap Cords (old) / 3.1 Philip Lim Bag (am in love with this color as well) / Pour La Victoire Wedges (bought via Gilt)
Photos taken by my Dad :)
After enjoying 80 degree weather in New Orleans this past weekend, I am now in Seattle where it is officially fall. I’m not going to lie, it’s been a bit of an adjustment seeing that it’s around 55 degrees here, but I love how crisp the air is, and the leaves are changing into beautiful gold and plum colors all around. Plus it’s almost time for gingerbread lattes (YAY!) at Starbucks, so I’m pretty sure autumn is in full swing. xo
Black and blue
Versace Sunglasses (c/o The Sunglass Shop) / Parker Top (c/o) / Zara Vest and Boots / Gryphon Skirt (via Nordstrom Rack) / Coach Watch (c/o) / C.Wonder Earrings / Givenchy Bag
Photos by Lydia Hudgens
Remember back when I photographed this Gryphon coat? Sadly it wasn’t mine to keep but when I spotted the matching skirt at Nordstrom Rack over the summer, I quickly snatched it up. I haven’t had a chance to wear yet since it’s been so warm, but finally the weather has allowed for it along with some light layers. xo
The Kipling Diaries: skipping town
Zara Jacket, Top, Leggings and Boots / Coach Watch (c/o) / Delphine Kipling Bag (c/o)
After living in New York for eight years and working for myself for the past four, I find that taking breaks from the city helps me feel more grounded and centered when things get a little too hectic. So, my remedy tends to be to head home to Seattle as much as I can, and because of my flexible schedule it allows me to see my family and friends more often than not, which is pretty great in my mind. :)
And speaking of flying home, I am headed to Washington on tomorrow for a quick reprieve and am bringing this handy Kipling cross-body with me. I love a trusty and wearable bag that can withstand the daily wear and tear I impose on it since I tend to be fairly hard on my bags – poor things. Plus when traveling, everyone needs a bag with easy-to-get-to compartments for necessary items, such as a place for their licence, debit card, phone and keys, that you can grab at a moments notice. Check out all the other great cross body bags that Kipling as has to offer, here!
