I cannot tell a lie. This outfit (and hair) was once again inspired by the stylish Blair, of Atlantic-Pacific. I put my own spin on this ensemble, but what drew me to this look in the first place was the buttoned-up blouse and how she paired it with something as simple a basic gray crewneck sweater creating a chic, ladylike combination.
But last weekend when I walked into the bedroom, wearing my blouse buttoned up all the way with my bejeweled neck decoration tied just so that it fell right beneath the collar, and asked A what he thought, he looked at me and said, “What’s up man-shirt.” Men and women really do have different ideas about what’s stylish. Le sigh.
But, I can’t really complain, because lucky for me, A does in fact recognize when something is stylish in the fashion world even when/if it’s not his favorite thing in “real life.” In the end, I do my best to always try and mix it up to create a happy medium.
I’m curious…does your boyfriend ever balk at anything you wear?
***Disclaimer: Don’t worry, A is extremely supportive and always makes it clear that he does not care what I wear as long as it makes me happy, but that if I ask his opinion on an outfit, he will always tell me his honest opinion no matter what. Gotta love an honest guy. :)

RayBan Aviators / UO Earrings and Flats / F21 Denim Shirt / H&M Anorak / LuLu’s Paislyn Sheer Maxi Skirt / Coach Watch and Bag (c/o) / Ariel Gordon Silk Friendship Bracelet (c/o via giftcard)
I am in love with this hairdo. I think it looks so chic and fresh, so when I got dressed to wander around the city on Saturday with A, I was determined to recreate the look the best I could. It took a few tries and I still need some practice, but I was pretty pleased with the final outcome.
As for the outfit…I paired my new sheer maxi with denim and army green, but am looking forward to lightening it up with a cropped tee and woven wedges. Hurry up, spring! xoxo
*On a separate outfit note, I meant to post these leather trench photos last week, but I guess better late than never, right?
(Click here to see how I wore this same trench with Converse high tops!)
My Outfit: Like Butter…
The Limited Scarf / F21 Anorak / Apart Roadster Leather Jacket (c/o) / Target Jeans / Converse Hightops / Coach Bag (c/o)
This past Sunday it was finally warm enough to layer with just a couple of light jackets instead of walking around zipped up in a puffy coat. The change in weather gave me an excuse to wear my lightweight anorak under my new, very favorite buttery leather jacket from Apart (seriously so soft), with a summery scarf. I also finally bought my first pair of hightop Converse, which was definitely an overdue purchase. (I wore these worn in favorites back in May while striking a similar pose…) Now these new babies just need to get scuffed up a bit so they’re not so white and bright!
P.S. The following day I wore this same leather jacket but changed it up a bit by pairing it with riding boots, a navy bag, and muted scarf. Make sure you check back tomorrow and take a look!
Remix: Denim On Denim, Take Two
RayBan Aviators / The Limited Scarf (gifted) / Thrifted Denim Buttondown, Belt / Madewell Jeans / H&M Socks / Aldo Loafer Heels / Charlotte Russe Bag (gifted) /Coach Boyfriend Bracelet (gifted)
This version of denim on denim is pretty different than yesterday’s ensemble, and definitely skews more towards my inner (or obvious) prepster. So now I’d like to know which look you like the best? And, would you wear either of these outfits?xoxo
Remix: Denim On Denim, Take One
East Village Frames / Thrifted Denim Buttondown / H&M Trench Vest / Madewell Jeans / Coach Boyfriend Bracelet, Bag (gifted) / Vintage Boots
I’m a big fan of denim on denim, especially a light and dark wash paired together. In the case of this outfit, I let the denim do most of the talking, by sticking with a neutral palette and only accessorizing with a vibrant kelly green tote.
Next up: Stay tuned tomorrow to see this denim on denim look remixed!
P.S. What would you name this outfit? For some reason “urban cowboy” comes to mind. Who knows why…
