Well, we did it! Krystal and I remixed our favorite cape simultaneously every other day last week and these are the looks we came up with. Now I will turn it over to you guys. Which one of Krystal’s ensembles do you like the best? (I love all three, but have to say I love the last one the most.) What about mine? (I actually think my favorite is the last look as well!) Let me know, I would love to hear! xoxo

Happy Friday, and happy almost Halloween! What are you guys dressing up as? A and I are going as a stewardess and a pilot. Classy, huh? Should be a fun time!
Okay, onto the outfit. Today is the last day of the style challenge that Krystal and I took upon ourselves to see how we would both wear our capes this week. I always love her style and this week has proven to be no different.
So, without further adieu, I give you version three. I was trying to channel a movie star-esque vibe again so I pulled out my faux fur stole, my lace and my glittery jewels for a glam effect.
Now, let’s see how Krystal styled hers up today….
Outfit Remix/Style Challenge: Camel Cape, Version 2
For those of you just joining us now, my good friend Krystal and I both bought the same camel cape from Zara and thought it would be fun to do a style challenge. You can see our outfits from Monday, here and here.
This morning, the weather was less than ideal. Why it’s wet and humid during the last week of October is beyond me. But I made the best of it and decided to cover myself up from the rain with my luxurious cape and felt fedora.
Hats In The Belfry Fedora / Fred Flare Sunglasses / Charlotte Russe Necklace / Thrifted Blouse, Belt and Boots / Banana Republic Skirt / Coach Bag / H&M Scarf
After comparing today’s outfit with Monday’s, I started to sense a theme of old fashioned movie stars. For instance, I felt like the simplicity of the cape with my black blouse and dark shades was very Audrey Hepburn, whereas today’s look gives a nod to the stately and stylish Katharine Hepburn. Sort of a moden day girl with a retro twist. Stay tuned this Friday to see what old classic movie star I decide to channel\ next…

Remix Round-up: My Beloved Trench Coats
New York has been full of humidity and rain, and to be honest, I’m so over it. But, I’ve decided to be a good sport and embrace the wetness we’ve been experiencing by doing a fun round-up of the times I’ve worn my various trench coats over the past year. So, without further adieu, let the remixing begin! Happy Friday! xoxo
P.S. Ok, actually the one in the third row, second from the left, is my lovely roommate Ashley’s coat that she let me borrow…isn’t it cute! Thanks, Ash! xoxo
Outfit Remix: A Walk in the Park
RayBan Sunglasses / Fred Flare Necklace / Gap Sweater / H&M Trench / Thrifted Belt / Thrifted Dress (worn as a skirt) from Beacon’s Closet / Steve Madden “Warrick” Wedges
I’ll be honest, for most of the morning, I sat on my couch in my gray American Apparel V-neck and favorite oversized boxers, working on my computer, drinking coffee and eating toast. When it finally came time to enter the world of the living and leave the apartment to run errands, I struggled with what to wear. It’s still pretty muggy and wet out, so it’s been hard to fully embrace fall when the thought of putting on tights or boots makes me start to sweat. This ensemble was on the warmer side, but I love wearing a trench and there was a slight breeze, so I talked myself into layering. I finally left the apartment and walked to Washington Square Park where I met up with my good friend Kitt. (She was kind of enough to take these photos. Thanks again, Kitty!)
Now onto the remix part of the post: This skirt is actually a dress! I’ve worn here and here, and it’s one of my favorite finds from Beacon’s Closet. At first I pulled the sweater over the dress and just left it plain and untucked, but after staring in the mirror for a minute, I still felt something was missing. So instead, I pulled the top of the dress down, tucked it underneath, then tucked the sweater in over it, and belted the whole thing. Et voila, a new outfit was born!
P.S. I love these wedges so much that I’m now eyeing the following styles to add to my collection: Wondrful, Tyrella and Dynastee. Do you guys have a favorite wedge? xoxo
My Outfit: Fashion’s Night Out
Vanessa from Coach, Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere, and me!
Me and Keiko!
The midtown mob.
Juicy Store in Midtown.
The lovely Kelly of The Glamourai!
My outfit of the evening: East Village Frames / Equipment Blouse / Urban Outfitters Skirt / H&M Bag / Juicy Leather Jacket (gifted) / Steve Madden “Caryssa” Heels
Fashion’s Night Out Recap:
Met up with Vanessa, Keiko and Kim at the Coach store uptown, where I finally got to meet the lovely Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere…then we headed over to the Juicy store where we were interviewed by the glamorous Kelly… then we finally headed back down downtown, where we navigated the streets of the West Village and Meatpacking, which were chock full of blogger friends, fashionistas and fun parties.
I remixed my Equipment Tank Blouse, by tying it up and wearing it with my skirt I grabbed on sale at Urban Outfitters, paired with my favorite nerd chic specs. I eventually headed home, grabbed a couple slices of pizza, and fell into mbed. I must say, FNO was quite the success! xoxo
Remix Round-up: Party Pants!
Fashion week is quickly approaching, and with new colorful pants in my closet, I want to try and wear them next week at least once to either a show or a party. I imagine I will style the final outfit a little differently than any of these in order to keep with the remix theme, but with that said, I’d like to know which look you lean towards/which ensemble is your favorite?
I hope you all had a fantastic long weekend! xoxo
Outfit Remix: Party Pants, Round Three
Thrifted Blouse / Thrifted Harem Pants / Nine West Shoes / Self-made Necklace
It’s Friday, it’s Friday, and I’ve got my party pants on, ready for the weekend! I wanted to style these pants a little differently the third time around, so I decided to shove them up and show off the ankles a bit. Funnily enough, a sweet reader commented the other day, suggesting that I should style them exactly how I had planned to, by shoving them up a bit with heels. Looks like we were on the same page. :)
This necklace is a piece I recently made with the chains from the Fenton Fallon event I attended a few weeks ago. I started out by creating a much chunkier version, then decided that I needed to streamline a bit. So I got to work and this is what I came up with. I definitely plan on making more necklaces in the future, so stay tuned!
P.S. The necklace in the previous post is from a little boutique (can’t remember the name) in Salt Lake City, UT. Isn’t it fun?
