As it gets progressively colder outside, I find that it takes a little more effort to style an outfit that is actually warm yet also stylish, especially since it will most likely be hidden under a puffy coat for most of the day…

Last batch of outfit photos from my recent trip to New Orleans. Can’t wait to get back down there – the one month countdown to Jazz Fest in on! P.S. Stay tuned for Friday Favorites this afternoon! xo
The Lucky Dozen
Ali Ro Jacket (gifted) / F21 Necklace / Top Shop Sweater (similar version here) / Banana Republic Skirt (gifted – here is a sassier version) / Vince Camuto Shoes (gifted ) / Bulgari Serpenti Bracelet (gifted from the Vogue Influencer Network) / Emily Elizabeth Cupid Bangle (gifted)
For quite some time now, I have been a huge fan of sequin skirts, but never owned any. Then all of a sudden I was the proud owner of two lovely versions! (The first one can be seen here.) The one I’m wearing in the photos above, is from Banana Republic’s handpicked collection of thirteen pieces that is part of a collaboration with Lucky Magazine called The Lucky Dozen. (If you have been inside a BR dressing room lately or checked out their facebook, you might see a cute diagram about this contest showing all the different ways you can mix and match these chic essentials to create head-to-toe look.) In honor of this collection, Banana Republic invites you all to give it a whirl and play their Lucky Dozen Facebook game. They will be issuing daily style challenges on their Facebook page from September 29th to October 29th. All you have to do to play, is simply drag and drop your favorite Lucky Dozen pieces and create a look that solves the challenge. Each day you participate, you’ll be entered to win one of thirteen $500 Banana Republic Shopping Sprees. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Good luck! xoxo
P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM!!!
My Outfit: Just Put Me In A J.Crew Catalog
RayBan Sunglasses / Banana Republic Blazer (gifted from a friend) / H&M Striped Dress (thrifted at Buffalo Exchange) / UO Shorts / J.Crew Belt / Gray Tights (?) / Aldo Oxford Heels / Charlotte Russe Bracelets / Jeweled Necklace (?) / Accessorize Ring (c/o) / Tulle Jacket / Accessorize Scarf (c/o)
Lately I have been into autumn neutrals, such as burnt orange, rust, gray, army green and every shade of mauve and beige I come across. I love tossing all these colors together and seeing what happens.
{ It’s no secret that I love J.Crew and their catalogs and styling, so I was convinced that this particular outfit belonged in their next lookbook. I am also convinced that J.Crew should scoop me up and have me as their next guest stylist. La-da-dee-da-da-da. A girl can dream, no? }
Anyway, daydreaming aside, I was pretty happy with this outfit and plan to try different versions of this look throughout the season.
P.S. Can you believe that tomorrow is December 1st? That means Christmas is right around the corner, which means flying home to Seattle is right around the corner as well. I. CAN’T. WAIT. xoxo
My Outfit: A Wandering We Will Go
Sunglasses (East Village street vendor) / Scarf (gift (?) / Banana Republic Sweater / Thrifted Etienne Aigner belt (Good Will) / H&M Skirt / HUE Knee Highs / Thrifted Vintage Boots (Screaming Mimi’s) / Coach Bag (gifted)
This past Sunday (actually the whole weekend) was full of no plans or obligations, which meant that I got to wander around the city with A with absolutely no place to be. It was wonderful. Not to mention, it was a perfectly clear fall day—sunny and crisp—which made for pretty neighborhood photographs.
As for the outfit…the inspiration came from Katy over at Kansas Couture. She and I own the same bright red skirt and when I saw her wear it here, I instantly became inspired. I love the tan sweater I wore, but in the past have felt that it never lays quite right. I finally experimented with belting it, which helped define my waistline, and felt that it did just the trick in adding that je’ne sais quoi.
It’s only Tuesday, but so far my week is off to a great start. I hope the same is true for you! xoxo
My Outfit: In Black and White
Urban Outfitters Earrings / Banana Republic Blazer / Gifted Natori Top / Gap Boyfriend Jeans / Steve Madden Warrick Wedges
I hope you all had a lovely Fourth of July! My plans changed at the last minute and I ended up staying in town, but still had a great time. It was low key with no traffic, drama or stress, and consisted of eating and lounging on the couch with my best friend and her husband. We ate tasty polish sausages, corn on the cob and munched on homemade oatmeal cookies. When it came time to watch the fireworks, we grabbed blankets and foldable chairs and headed across the street to Greenlake where we had a prime view of the fireworks show going on downtown. It was an excellent time.
As far as this outfit goes, it was something that I just slipped on over the weekend to go grab happy hour drinks down in Ballard with a good friend. I’ve realized that I need to get these wedges in black, because as much as I love the cognac color, I think having them in two colors would be a good wardrobe investment.
Do you guys have a favorite pair of shoes that you wish you had in more than one color? xoxo

My Outfit: It’s All in the Details
I told you I’m having fun with my new camera. So, I know that I want to try out a different lens in order to get the right type pf photograph for the blog, but I have to say, the one that came with the camera is also great and works really well.
TopShop Trench (thrifted from Beacon’s Closet) / Banana Republic Shirt (from my Mom) / Denim Shirt (thrifted from The Goodwill) / J.Crew Necklace Gifted from Dove / Banana Republic Jeans ( from my Mom) / Steve Madden “Warrick” Wedges / RayBan Wayfarers
This look was inspired by a recent photograph I saw online at jcrew.com. I like the “buttoned-up glamour” vibe it gives off…chic, but playful at the same time.
My Outfit: My Mother’s Closet
After sleeping many hours, playing endlessly on the floor with Barnaby, and eating lots of my parent’s yummy cooking, I finally rejuvenated myself enough to actually get out of my pajamas, get dressed and take a few outfit photos. I could take all the credit for this outfit, but instead I will tell you what really happened…
Whenever I come home, my Mom and I always zip up to her closet and she whips out all the new, fun items she’s picked up here and there. She doesn’t shop a lot, but when she does, she is excellent at it—knows how to spot the sales—and has impeccable taste—always looks fresh and flawless.
This outfit came together without any real direction. Meaning, I didn’t purposely try to put something together. Instead, my Mother sort of dressed me. I was lounging around in yet another trapeze tank top, and as I was sitting on the bed, she tossed me her new Hue jeggings that she found super cheap at Nordstrom. I have written about this trend, yet never tried it myself, and was happily surprised with how they fit. Next, she suggest I try on her new white button down shirt. Still half asleep, I absentmindedly try it on over the tank, still wearing the jeggings. She assures me that she likes what she sees, so I shuffle in front of the mirror and realize I am very pleased as well.
Needless to say, I immediately ran downstairs and photographed this look before I even gave myself a chance to change back into my sleep mask and nightgown. I’ll be honest, all I did to partake in this look was paint my lips red, tossle my hair, and slip on my new necklace and wooden wedges. So, thank you, Mom, for your continuous style and inspiration! xoxo
