I picked up this sweet little sweater at Zara for a sweet little price (read massively on sale), and love how the gold stitching reminds me of (and parallels) the crisscrossing of the gold chain on my wedges. Sometimes outfits work out just right and feel easy breezy, and when they do, they are that much more fun to enjoy, don’t you think? xoxo

I had a slew of events to go to on Wednesday night, including a wonderful dinner with the Be Classic girls. I wanted to wear something chic and versatile that could transition from event to event to dinner. So, I decided on this silky sheath, which is one of the little striped numbers I picked up at the Joie event I mentioned yesterday. I belted it to give it a bit more shape and opted for these tan Seychelles shoes again versus a basic black heel to lighten up the overall look. Also, I swear this tote goes with everything.

P.S. I would like to wish my darling boyfriend a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I love you “A”! xoxo

***I have had a love affair with Foley + Corinna bags ever since I wrote this post back in 2008, which was my 7th post! Ever since then, I have dreamed of owning a Mid City tote, and last week, my dream came true. Don’t you just adore the cheerful color? Surprisingly, it works as an excellent neutral and goes with everything in my closet. Happiness all around!***
This outfit came together sort of randomly, but was the perfect ensemble for a relaxing catch-up-brunch with my dear friend Amanda this past Saturday morning. We chatted over eggs and coffee and then took some quick outfit shots. I love the title of this post because it’s so fitting—the majority of the pieces are “borrowed” from the men in my life—but it was in fact, thought up by my quick witted said friend.
I really like wearing oversized items (“A” is not a huge fan of this, or shoulder pads in blazers) but know that sometimes too oversized can overwhelm my shape and I end up looking frumpy. But this time around, I think I managed to balance out this casual, comfy look by tailoring it with a slightly cinched trench and girly green wedges. Oh, and of course my new, very favorite tote. Happy Monday!
