This is my first Valentine’s Day with Casey and I’m so excited. He has a surprise planned and I LOVE surprises. I have no idea what to expect, but I know that no matter what we do, it will be a blast.
With that said, this collaboration with Chloé couldn’t have come at a better time, seeing that their latest scent is called “Love Story” … and with February 14th just a day away, it got me thinking about my relationship and love story with Casey.
I could go into a long story of how we met, all the things we have been through together this past year and list off his amazing qualities, but instead, I am going to keep it short and sweet for now and share three things that inspired this photo shoot.
These three things are crucial elements that played (and continue to play) huge parts in our relationship, and mean so much to me…
1. New York. It’s where we met and is a very special place to both of us.
2. Laughter. I think this is one of the key ingredients to a happy relationship, and is something that Casey and I try to infuse into each other’s lives on a daily basis.
3. Romance. This can be described as many things to different people, but to me, it’s something you create and recreate over time within your own relationship with that special someone. Casey and I try and always keep it alive and well, no matter how small the gesture.
Isn’t the bottle pretty? It smells amazing too.
Locks, seen on the famous Pont Des Arts “love” bridge in Paris, have become an international symbol of love…
So Casey and I followed tradition and left ours on the Brooklyn Bridge.

You might recognize the two photos above from Instagram that I posted yesterday, which were taken right after I first styled my hair with these products by TRESemme’s new hair care line, Perfectly (un)Done. I was really happy with the outcome and spent the rest of the day enjoying my tousled beachy waves. (For a bit of extra bounce, I touched up the ends with a clipless curling wand.)
Then later on in the day, I headed out with Casey for a bit and changed into this cozy sweater (puffy jacket not shown) and whipped up my waves up into a loose, undone top knot. Just by doing that and adding a red lip, I felt like the outcome was a completely different style and look, don’t you think? I also love how the bun looks sort of tousled in it’s own way, even though it’s pinned up.

I can’t believe Fashion Week is just a few days away! I’m pretty excited though because I have a bunch of great projects and shows coming up, plus a couple of my favorite west coast girls will be out here for the week as well, so that’s always fun.
Now, onto discussing these wavy hair pics. To be honest, I never really plan out what I am going to wear to the shows during fashion week, I sort of just figure it out on the spot, see what mood I am in and go from there. But, what is a little easier for me to plan, is my hair. I have been growing it out for over a year now and have been loving wearing it curly, wavy, beachy, you name it. And during busy, hectic times (i.e. #nyfw) I tend not to wash my hair everyday, so I really need reliable dry shampoo as well as hair and texture sprays that are going to keep my waves going strong for a couple days at a time. Seeing that I am also always trying out new products, serums, sprays etc, it can be hard to have a favorite, but I have found over the years that I really like using TRESemmé products. They just seem to work well with my hair, you know?
I love a good beachy sea salt spray. Excited to see how this one works with my hair.
That said, when I was approached by the brand to try out their new Perfectly (un)Done hair care line, I of course ran right over to my local drugstore (I found my product at Walgreens) and stocked up on a bunch of the product. I’m excited to give everything a whirl and am starting this morning by using TRESemmé’s Perfectly (un)Done Weightless Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner. I will also be documenting how I style my hair with their new products throughout the week, so follow along at @mystylepill on Instagram!
The five products I am trying this week!
P.S. If you have a local Walgreens near by you, make sure to use your Balance Rewards card from now until the 14th to get other TRESemmé shampoos, conditioners, and styling products for just $3.99!
TRESemmé is the official hair care sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

The thought process behind this outfit:
First off, I want to thank you guys for your comments on my previous post. They were so helpful and insightful and actually inspired this outfit! I’ve been thinking about the month long remix challenge a lot this week and what you guys wrote got me thinking about basing outfits around more classic pieces, case in point, these slim black pants. As much as I love my slouchy boyfriend jeans, I know that most people can’t wear them to work and mostly just wear them around the house or on the weekend. So that said, I decided to pull my favorite black cigarette pants out of my closet and create an outfit around them.
I could have chosen to put on a silky shirt and a blazer, but it felt a bit too buttoned up for me on this particular day, so instead I grabbed my trusty chambray button down, which helped bring a slightly more casual feel to the look, and my new favorite scarf. I played off the colors in the scarf to help me decide on which jacket, hat and bag to wear and before I knew it, I was full dressed!
What do you guys think, do you like this look?
How do you style your black pants?
Outfit Details:
Hat: Rag & Bone / Sunglasses: Karen Walker / Scarf: Aldo (also LOVE this one) / Jacket: IRO (mine isn’t available anymore, but here is a similar, super affordable one on sale at ASOS) / Shirt: J.Crew / Pants: Zara (mine are old, but here is a similiar pair) / Heels: Schutz (mine are sold out, but here is a darker grey version) / Bag: Proenza Schouler
P.S. To be honest with you, I didn’t actually wear these shoes out in this crazy weather. I actually wore these short little UGG boots, but these heels are what I would wear if there wasn’t ice and snow on the ground. :)

Yay! I figured out how to fix my video! Give it a listen if you have a minute and let me know your thoughts in the comments! xo
P.S. If you don’t have time to watch right now, the basic questions I am asking in the video are:
Would you guys be into doing a month long remix challenge with me in March?
If so, what kinds of styling would you like to see?
Would you want to integrate themes (such as wearing stripes for a week or incorporating red somehow)?
Also, please let me know what you guys do for a living. Do you guys go to a corporate job or are you self-employed? Does your office require suits or can you wear casual attire? I would love to know so that this remix challenge can be helpful as well as fun. :)
Alright guys, I’ll check back soon to see what you guys think!

Hi guys and happy Tuesday!
So I had made a short video (teaser content and photo above) that I hope to share with you a little later on today, but for some reason right now I can’t seem to get the customized thumbnail to show up when I embed it from YouTube into WordPress. Do you guys know how to fix that? If so, please leave a comment below. :)
Anyway, it should be figured out shortly, in which case I will send out a tweet letting you know when it’s live on here, but until then, I hope you all have a happy and productive day. Stay warm! xo

Don’t mind the lint. For some reason, this hat seems to attract it to no end!
