Yesterday was Casey’s last day in Seattle so I wanted to make sure we had a fun Seattle-centric day. After breakfast, we drove over to Gas Works Park and took in the skyline, which was pretty incredible. The sun was shining and it was chilly out but overall pretty perfect weather considering that it’s freezing and snowing in other parts of the country right now. After that, we headed to University Village for lunch, then came home for a bit of work time, and then eventually back out for a little family dinner before heading to the airport (tear). I hate goodbyes, and even though I will see him next weekend, it doesn’t seem to make it any easier at the time of the actual goodbye. Does anyone else feel like that? It’s been so much fun having him over the past week and a half, I just didn’t want our mini vacation to end. Sigh.
On another note, I think I’m seeing a theme here with all my monochromatic outfits I’ve been wearing as of late. :) Today’s look started with these blue suede pumps from Nine West. I have been holding onto them for a while now but always struggled with how I wanted to style them. Finally, I just picked them up and started pulling together other blue items I had with me on this trip, and voila! This is what came out of it. I grabbed my beloved Mariners hat on the way out the door to add a playful yet casual touch to the overall look.

I hope getting back into the swing of things this week hasn’t been too rough on you and that you all have super fun weekend plans. I will be watching the Seahawks play tomorrow and then hopefully just having a relaxing Sunday at home with Barney, my parents and the Hallmark Channel. (No judgement!)
Sending love and good energy to you guys – thanks for being there. xo

My earrings were a gift from Bauble Bar.
Casey and I drove up to Bellingham yesterday to visit my old college campus, Western Washington University (I also went to Fairhaven College for those of you that are familiar with the schools), which was so much fun and definitely a walk down memory lane for me. The town is only about an hour and a half away from Seattle, so we decided to take a little trip up there to show him my old stomping grounds. Luckily it was beautiful out and we caught some amazing views along the way and down by the water. One of my favorite parks between Bellingham and Fairhaven is called Boulevard Park. I’ll let the photo below speak for itself. :)
I found the “evil eye” necklace at a little boutique in Marblehead, Mass. back in November, and Casey bought me the giraffe necklace for Christmas. :)
The scenic view during the ride up Chuckanut Drive.

1: Casey and I are in desperate need of a living room wall makeover, so I’m really loving this gallery wall for inspiration.
2: Our bedroom in the apartment is really dark, which can be nice when sleeping in, but I still love a bright yet cozy bedroom.
3: Sharing this image just because these cute girls make me smile.
4: Again with that natural light! A nice bright, white kitchen would be so amazing to cook in, don’t you think?
5: Colorful clothing is great, but sometimes all black everything is all a girl needs.
6: Working on attaining cool fonts and came across these awesome free ones!
As I ease into January and get back into the swing of things, I’ve been thinking about a few things I want to try and be more consistent with on a daily basis. I have my bigger life long goals, like keeping up with my gym routine, eating healthy and drinking more water, but I also have smaller, slightly less intimidating goals.
One in particular being more proactive and present on Pinterest! I remember a few years ago when Ben Silbermann approached me at an IFB conference, handed me his business card and told me he had started a site called Pinterest. I didn’t really know what it was back then but it’s so amazing to see where the company is today. It’s truly such a great place to find and share inspirations as well as a great way to keep everything visually organized.
1: I really want to be somewhere warm in the upcoming months. These palm trees have me dreaming of the beaches in California.
2: Cream colored, cozy turtleneck knits are my jam. I love my oversized one I found for $5 at Value Village!
3: DIY chalkboard mugs! LOVE.
4: The lovely Arielle from Something Navy, looking stylish as usual. I want to recreate/DIY this look with a cheap pair of faux leather pants.
5: Easy to make (and healthy) egg muffins! Yummmm.
6: Le sigh. Emmanuelle Alt makes me want to own only simple, classic pieces. And tuck my shirt in. And wear blazers.
That said, as silly as this might sound, sometimes I just get so overwhelmed with everything that is out there and feel like I’m on social media overload at times. That there are more blogs and vlogs than I can ever read or watch, that I’m not posting enough on my own platforms and that I will never be able to tackle and clean out my overcrowded inbox. Because the truth is, instead of delving in, sometimes I just shut down. Does that ever happen to you guys? Ugh, it can be the worst!
But the thing is, I’m not complaining or being negative…actually the opposite. I want to take a look at what’s overwhelming me and slowly but surely, carve out time for what needs to be taken care of, take it one step at a time, and get it done. So, one of the things I’m starting with is, growing and expanding my presence on Pinterest. I want to share more inspiration with you guys, because well, it’s visually stimulating, inspiring, makes me happy, and it’s fun! I’m excited to delve in even deeper and fall down many amazing “pin holes” if you will.
So, in an effort to start flexing my P-muscles, I dug around and found a bunch of images (and the sites they came from) that I like at the moment to share with you guys. You can follow even more of my pins and boards here, so I hope you guys will follow along!
As always, thanks for stopping by and reading what I have to say.
I’m always so appreciative of you guys and your amazing support. xoxo

Good morning, everyone! Can you believe it’s the first Monday of the new year? I’m excited for what’s to come in 2015 but so very thankful for what 2014 brought me, which included my sweet boyfriend, Casey. He’s quite a gem and I feel so lucky to have him in my life. I posted about him being a saint here, because when we took these photos, it was FREEZING outside. Poor guy didn’t have gloves on and let me tell you, the wind coming off the water was brutal. I can handle cold weather, but when you involve crazy wind, no thank you. He patiently shot and reshot until I got what I wanted photo-wise, and kept a smile on his face for most of it. My Dad is the same way – patient and supportive. Thank goodness for these two amazing men in my life.
Can you tell by the look on my face that I’m freezing? Haha, I was trying so hard to keep it together! Oh, what I will do for a good photograph!
As you can see, I am desperately trying to hold my hair down and keep it from blowing straight up or across my face. I’m sure I looked insane to any bystanders, especially when I took off my jacket, but I really wanted to show you guys my sweater! :)

Hi everyone! How was your holiday? I’ve been in heaven here, spending the past two weeks enjoying quality time with my family, seeing good friends and cuddling with my favorite pup, Barney.
One of my favorite things to do when at home in Seattle is to visit an area called Richmond Beach, which is where I grew up. My friend Steph and I drove down there last week and took in the beautiful view and reminisced about being 17, driving around listening to music and talking about boys.
There is something about being next to a large body of water (more specifically, the ocean) that is so calming to me. I could sit on a piece of driftwood for hours, with this view in front of me, and be as happy as a clam.
