Remember this skirt? Well, here it is again, shown two different ways! I wore the outfit on the left out to a dinner in the LES, whereas the outfit on the right was worn wandering around D.U.M.B.O after a Saturday brunch with friends. I love changing items up and wearing them for different occasions. This is one of my favorite things to do when it comes to styling outfits. Lots more remix/rematch-related posts to come!
My Outfit: Vintage Treasures
Last week I spent a lovely Friday running around Brooklyn with Jessica of What I Wore, and then later on with Pamela of Market Publique, and managed to hit up both Beacon’s Closet locations. The first one in Park Slope, I got this cute skirt for $15! Afterwards, I headed to Williamsburg and got a really cute black dress from the Beacon’s there, so stay tuned for photos to come. And finally, before I was about to head back to the city, the lovely Pamela gave me these amazing shoes, which are vintage 1960’s wedge/clogs! I am completely in love.
P.S. Also stay tuned for the remixed version of this skirt…fun photos to come!
My Outfit: Easy, Breezy, Summertime
I finally downloaded all my photos from my trip to Westport, Mass. where I spent the 4th of July. My cousins are huge fans of this holiday and prepared massive amounts of food, complete with cute napkins, plates and glasses, all decorated with stripes and stars. We started off our morning of the 3rd, with peach coffee cake, blueberry muffins, yogurt and fruit. Yum! After breakfast, we headed to the quaint town of Bristol, where we wandered in and out of lots of cute shops—one of which I purchased the gold Dolce Vita sandals in the photo above—and got to see all the decorations for the parade that would take place the following day. I chose a breezy sundress to wear, which was perfect for the beautiful weather we had. All in all, a lovely day with lovely people.
I would like to send out a huge thanks to Carol, Lori, Peter and Maria! Love you all!
My Outfit: Meetings and Such
I am so happy it’s Friday! Plus, I am loving my new floral romper, which I just picked up at—where else—Forever 21! It is lightweight and comfy and reminds me of the flowered babydoll dresses that i used to wear in 8th grade. Looks like the 90s are making a comback! This morning I am heading to Fort Greene to have coffee and bagels with Jessica of the awesome blog, What I Wore, then scooting off to Williamsburg to have lunch and chat with Pamela of Market Publique. I am very excited about today’s meetings…both of these ladies are absolutely lovely! What are you all up to today? Anything fun going on this weekend? My dear friend Liz is having her Birthday party on Saturday and I can’t wait to celebrate with her!
Happy weekend, everyone!
My Outfit: Remix, Rematch
I had lots of fun playing dress up with this cute skirt from Forever 21. By merely adding a different belt and shoes, I created four slightly different looks. I would wear the first outfit dancing, the second to brunch, the third to work and the fourth on a dinner date. I also love when I see how other people style the exact same article of clothing. Nickie, who I met last week at the Weardrobe party, wore it like this. Fun!
My Outfit: Brooklyn Heights
I must admit, I really dug my outfit I wore to wander around Brooklyn Heights. Not only was it comfy, it felt pulled together yet still casual enough for a nice day stroll through the different neighborhoods. I spent a lovely day with Mom, wandering around and fell in love with the area all over again. I love the pretty tree-lined streets and the breathtaking views of the city. She left early this morning. I am so sad to see her go. Thanks for everything Momma!
My Outfits: Ferries and Margaritas
I had quite the eventful day yesterday. With my Mom and Godmother in town, we ran all over the city, going here and there, including a fun ferry ride to Staten Island, and later on, a yummy bite to eat at Tortilla Flats. Our margs and chips hit the spot! Afterwards, we took a stroll over to the High Line and snapped a few pretty photos. It was such a lovely evening, wasn’t it? How was your Monday?
Happy Belated 4th!
I hope you all had a lovely holiday weekend. I spent mine at a family clam boil and it was so much fun! This was my fourth of July outfit, which is a dress that didn’t fit correctly in the top, so I turned it into a skirt by tucking the top part underneath. I love it when you can transform an item of clothing into something unexpected! Anyway, I wanted to incorporate the traditional red, white and blue, so I opted for a navy blue tank-slip and a crisp white blazer. What did you wear for the 4th?
