I knew that we had a huge day ahead of us with all the events planned for the conference, so I wanted to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. So, I opted for my favorite comfy gray tee, my Dad’s old Levi’s that I cut off, and my worn-in woven flats. Check back at 12 to read about day two of the conference! My Outfit: His Girl Friday
Recap of last Friday’s outfit:
I quickly snapped a photo of my outfit before rushing off to meet all the girls involved in the Weardrobe Conference. I had no idea what to wear and my brain was going non-stop the night before trying to think of something stylish to wear, but that was still very “me.” I was happy with what I came up with because not only did I like the color combinations, but I was comfortable and stayed fairly cool, despite the humidity. Check back at 12 to read about, and see photos from the recap of Day 1 of the Conference! xoxo
P.S. Have you ever seen His Girl Friday? I love it. But then again, I love old movies. And Cary Grant.

Outfit Remix: Switchin’ It Up
This photo is of an outfit I wore back in early August but I totally forgot to tell you guys that my top in the first post from today is actually a skirt! The exact skirt, in fact, that I wore in the photo above! When I put it on with my new flared jeans, I loved the way it ruffled out at the bottom, and when belted, it helped draw in the flowiness of it a bit. Et voila!

My Outfit: Sleek and Shiny
Although I may be back in New York, I still have quite a few outfits that I wore and photographed while I was in Seattle and haven’t had a chance to post them. This outfit would be one of them. Can I just say, that I am in love with this jumper. Back in early August, my Mom and I drove to this little vintage store in Ballard called, Are You Scentimental. The owner was super nice and friendly and brought out this little number before it was even on the rack. It used to be a pantsuit, but she hemmed it into shorts. Right up my alley! The price was great, so we purchased it immediately! Best. Romper. Ever.

Outfit Remix: Girly Gingham
You remember my outfit from earlier, right? Well, after helping my Mom, I came home and did a few things around the house before heading over to my best friend’s house for take-out and wine. I wanted to dress up this shirt a bit (it’s too bad that you can’t see the gingham pattern very well) so when I eyed my favorite high-waisted floral skirt hanging in my closet, I decided to see what the combo of red and white gingham and pink and orange floral would look like together. Next, I added my bright green purse for a fun pop of color, popped my collar for kicks and slipped on my woven wooden wedges. I felt very 1950’s and loved every second of it! My Outfit: Visiting the Classroom
On Friday, I helped my Mom get her classroom (she teaches 4th grade!) set up and organized for the first day of school, which starts next week. I wanted to be comfy while I sat on the floor and organized drawers full of math beans, scissors, magic markers and glue sticks, so I decided to wear my “new” Facannable button down that I got at a consignment shop in Ballard because it’s slightly roomy and casual. It’s hard to tell in these photos, but the shirt is actually a red and white gingham print, but it paired nicely with my bright white shorts. I liked the outfit enough to run outside to the basketball court and snap a few photos. Later that evening I went out with a few friends and remixed the shirt into a completely different outfit. Check back later today to what I wore!

Outfit Remix, Part 2: Jumper + Sundress
I had fun with this outfit and remixed the heck out of it. As the day went on and the sun started to set, I wanted another layer on in case it started to get a chilly out. I already had my black jumper on, so I just slipped my black sundress on over it, then folded the top part of it underneath and belted the waist with my new blue belt from H&M. The great part is, because the skirt of the dress is so full and roomy, nothing bunched up underneath and it turned out to be a very comfortable and easy ensemble. And, by switching up the scarf and earrings and removing the sunglasses, it gave the outfit a whole new feel.

Outfit Remix, Part 1: Black Jumper
Just a fun, cool outfit for summer. I love this black jumper and have gotten a lot of great wear out of it. I enlisted my new blue belt to add a little pop of color and added the huge glasses and head wrap as a last minute touch for fun. I have an idea of how to remix this look even further, so check back this afternoon to see what I came up with!
