Yesterday was nuts with all the snow that hit Manhattan, which really was nothing compared to surrounding areas, but still, it was like a mini-white out for a while. To avoid going stir crazy in my apartment by myself all day, I escaped over to a friend’s place to do some work. We sat and sipped coffee, marveled at the snow flurries, and laughed at the funny pigeons that were perched near the window to stay warm. Eventually we decided that food would be a good move, so we ventured out to a nearby restaurant and ate Vietnamese sandwiches and Phở, (my first time!) which really was the perfect food for such a snowy, wet, cold day. I hope you all stayed warm and dry. Did anyone go sledding or make snow angels? xoxo
I’m Leaving, On A Jet Plane…

Hello dolls! I’m on my way back to good ol’ east coast today, but will be back with a brand new post bright ‘n early tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I hope you are all surviving the first couple days back to work, and are staying nice and toasty in this chilly weather! xoxo
My Outfit: It Was A Turkey “Chilly” Day
Hurrah, it’s Friday! Okay, first off, sorry about the lack of a post yesterday. I thought I put it up yesterday morning, but realized that I clicked the wrong button and made it for this morning instead! Anyway, that post, which is about an adorable headband from Old Soul, New Heart, will go up later this afternoon. In the meantime, here is a little post about my day, and what I wore, yesterday afternoon. It was so cold here in New York, and I totally wore the wrong coat, and as a result was freezing all day. And, because it was so chilly outside, all I could think about for lunch was eating hot, yummy soup. So, I went to The Grey Dog’s Coffee and had their amazing Turkey Chili. Mike had a Cuban and a Pellegrino, and for dessert, which we sort of ate beforehand, a huge chocolate chip cookie (heated up). Yum.
As for the outfit…I really love the top I wore, which I just got from H&M last weekend. It’s just so bright and cheery, and very unexpected for the winter months. I paired it with my high waisted, patterned skirt and a snazzy sequinned belt, which added a fun, festive touch.

My Outfit: A Night Out In Brooklyn
Sorry for no post yesterday! My best friend had to go out of town for a few days, so I was puppy sitting for most of the day yesterday. But to back up a bit, Thursday night, I had happy hour drinks with friends and then trekked out to Brooklyn to attend a fun party for the opening of the store, In God We Trust. One of the highlights though, was that earlier that day, my new duds, courtesy of ModCloth, had arrived! I was beyond excited to rock my new faux fur vest and polka dotted tights, which have been on my wish list for a while now. I have really been into mixing patterns lately and decided to mix stripes and dots this time around. And, since it wasn’t cold enough for a winter coat, I merely layered with another vest, which was the perfect amount of clothing for a lovely, crisp fall night.
My Outfit:
Necklace: Fred Flare
Earrings: Urban Outfitters
Faux fur vest: ModCloth
Boyfriend vest: H&M
Dress: H&M, thrifted from Buffalo Exchange
Tights: ModCloth
Boots: Thrifted from Beacon’s Closet
My Style: Bright ‘n Bold
Inspired by the many sites out there that showcase people’s personal style, such as Weardrobe and Wardrobe_remix on Flickr, I decided it was high time I began photographing my own personal style. So, starting today, that is what I am going to do…whenever I wear something that I love, up goes a photograph, or a collage. I will list each item that I am wearing and link to websites if the item is still available.
So, with that said, above is outfit #1, shot by the lovely Jessica of What I Wore, who is a lovely lady, and a daily dose of inspiration. And always, thanks for reading, my loves!
My Ensemble:
Skirt, Forever 21…
(sadly, I couldn’t find my exact skirt, but here is one, similar in pattern and color.)
Avedon Fashion: 1944-2000
I just read on Cool Hunting about an awesome exhibit that is coming to the International Center of Photography. The showcase will be the most comprehensive exploration to date of Avedon’s fashion photography during his extensive career at Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, The New Yorker, and beyond. It will run from May 15th to September 6th. I will so be there. How exciting, I can’t wait!
