After pairing my plaid shirt with my new short-alls in the previous post, I remembered two remixes I created based around said shirt, but completely forgot about the layout I created for them. So, I dug around in my files for a bit, and finally found it! I think it’s ust a fun way to dress up or dress down an otherwise pretty basic button down shirt.
Outfit Remix: Outside to Inside
As you know, I purchased this skirt last week from Beacon’s Closet. I am all about wearing things more ways than once, and this item was the perfect specimen to experiment with. Since the top of the skirt has a wide elastic band, it was easy to pull up and wear as a tube top. But being just a tad too short to wear as a dress, I slipped on some shorty shorts to remedy that issue, and layered the top with a vest to avoid any billowing that might occur. I love how these two looks use many of the same components—such as the sunglasses, shorts and shoes—whilte staying within the same color scheme, yet look totally different from the other. The outfit on the left would be perfect for an outdoor live music festival with friends and the one on the right would be super cute to wear to the office!
Outfit Remix: Day n’ Night
Here is another one of my fab finds from F21. I was going through my photos and found three different times that I wore this cute black and white patterned skirt over the past couple months. The first outfit was worn while running errands in my neighborhood. It was a beautiful day and the skirt provided enough airiness that kept me cool all day. The second outfit was worn out to a dinner on a rainy spring night—hence the black raincoat— and the last outfit was worn during a fun lunch at Bryant Park with Jessica! Although the first and third outfits are similar in style, by merely changing up the accent colors and adding a hat or scarf, the ensembles take on two completely different looks. As for the second outfit, the accessories and color scheme is almost identical to outfit number one, so in order to take this look from casual to chic and ready for a night out on the town, just throw on some heels and you’re ready to go!
My Outfit: Floral Skirt Remixed
Remember this skirt? Well, here it is again, shown two different ways! I wore the outfit on the left out to a dinner in the LES, whereas the outfit on the right was worn wandering around D.U.M.B.O after a Saturday brunch with friends. I love changing items up and wearing them for different occasions. This is one of my favorite things to do when it comes to styling outfits. Lots more remix/rematch-related posts to come!
