Ever since I got my ears re-pierced ( I now have two on one side and three on the other), I have loved playing around and mixing and matching with different studs. My usual go-to is Bauble Bar for fashion forward and wallet friendly pieces, so when I got hold of their Play By Ear Gift Set I was over the moon. Their gift box is full of so many various styles you can’t help but be inspired to mix and match and wear as many as you can. That said, I thought I would give it a whirl and do quick little earring remix for you guys!

Last week I teamed up with Gather & Gown, a new e-commerce bridal boutique, to style and remix a couple of their bridesmaids dresses. I think it’s so fun to take an item of clothing, in this case, a fancy party dress, and give it a completely different personality. I started with the dress shown above, which when worn traditionally as a bridesmaid dress, would look very elegant with silver strappy heels and a statement necklace. But instead I wanted to make it look a bit more edgy, so I slipped on a fitted black moto jacket and grabbed a pair of sparkly heels to give the look a bit of sass.
All the pretty dresses. So many gorgeous styles and colors to choose from!
Founders Michael Shettel and Vincent Piccione launch their site in January 2015 and will offer beautifully tailored contemporary dresses for the wedding day and beyond, all for under $200 plus free shipping and free returns. The duo also wants their site to help girlfriends easily shop collaboratively together online no matter where they live or the distance between them.
The team took a handful of pictures on my iPhone while I was on set, so I thought it would be fun to share some behind the scenes photos of me getting ready, on camera with my gorgeous model (video to come soon!) and with one of the founders and designers, Michael Shettel. Seeing that I’m only 5’4, I had to stand on an apple box the whole time! Thanks, Gather & Gown for a great shoot. We shot some great footage and I can’t wait to share the final video with you all! xo

Cargo Leather Biker Jacket: All Saints / Sculptural Ribbon Cuff: Alexis Bittar / Turtleneck: American Apparel
I’ve been a fan of Alexis Bittar’s jewelry since 2005, when I was first introduced to it while working as an intern in the accessories closet at InStyle. I remember the pieces that the editors would call in for shoots and thinking how chic and amazing the rings, bracelets and necklaces looked. I continued to admire his jewelry whenever I would pass by this store on Bleecker, thinking how fun it would be to wear one of his amazing statement bangles. Flash forward to 2012 when I was working with a client and we were pouring over her collection of Alexis Bittar pieces that she had cumulated over the years, I was still admiring the style and shape of his jewelry. And now, here we are today, where I get to style up my very own selected pieces from Alexis Bittar’s collection and share them with you on my blog. Pretty exciting in my book!
Super Duper Strength Sunglasses: Karen Walker / Turtleneck: American Apparel / Gold Crescent Necklace: Alexis Bittar / Bag: Chanel (borrowed from Bella Bag)
Sculptural Ribbon Cuff: Alexis Bittar / Jeans: Koral (gift – unfortunately, I can’t find these online anymore, but these are very similar and ON SALE!)

The pieces I chose are very wearable and versatile, and I know I will be wearing them for years to come.

Just a fun little midday week announcement to let you guys know that I was asked to participate in a beauty challenge feature for New York Magazine’s The Cut! I’m very excited, as I am a huge fan of everything New York Magazine. The task at hand was to create three different looks with what product was given to me, which consisted of various eyeshadow sticks, colored eyeliners, mascara and lipstick. Then document the different looks through three step by step selfies. Each look also had to be worn to a New York Fashion event or show. It’s been really fun to play around with the makeup, and having never used Marc Jacob beauty products before, I have to say, I really like them. (I already know a few of them that will be living in my bag and on repeat during the fall and winter months.) Anyway, the challenge will go live on The Cut tomorrow, so keep an eye out. I will be tweeting all about it! As always, thanks for your enthusiasm and continuous support. xo

Dress: Donna Morgan / Necklace: J.Crew (old) / Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim (this color is no longer available, but this fuschia color is gorgeous! / Shoes: Casadei (I bought these heels on Gilt years ago, but they still have the style available in this lipstick red color. Perfect for fall!)
Earlier this summer, I did a photo shoot with the brand Donna Morgan, which is an online shop that offers a great selection of extremely versatile dresses that are easy to style, and retail under $200. I first shared about this project back in June when I showed how I styled this pretty summer maxi from day to night (also worn here). But now with fall upon us, I thought it was season-appropriate to share the second part of the shoot, which shows how I transitioned this little black dress from day to night by using pieces from my own closet.
Dress: Donna Morgan / Necklace: J.Crew (old) / Blazer: Rag & Bone (gift from Alicia) / Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim / Shoes: Casadei
Necklace: Bauble Bar / Jacket: Zara / Bag: Clare V. / Shoes: Zara
Earrings: From Karla’s Closet x Roman Luxe Collaboration / Jacket: Zara / Clutch: DVF (old, gifted) / Shoes: Zara
Jacket: IRO (I scored this jacket majorly on sale but this inky-hued, deep purple version is also pretty stunning.) / Necklace: Bauble Bar (gift) / Bag: J.Crew / Shoes: Schutz (old, but similar options here and here)
The thing about a LBD is, it can be worn alone and still look amazing because it represents a polished, chic look, perfect for the office or happy hour, depending on the length and cut of course. :) But sometimes it’s fun to change it up a bit. So for instance, an easy way to create a daytime look is to try and keep the colors a bit brighter to lighten up the look of the dress. In this case, I used a punchy neon bag and pretty lavender shoes. Then for evening styles, I opted for more bold and striking pieces, such as a patterned leopard coat or an edgy maroon leather jacket. xo
P.S. Looking for some great versatile dresses for fall? You’re in luck! Donna Morgan is now offering 15% off the site with the code MSP0915, valid from 9/4-9/6! Happy shopping! xo

Yippee, Fashion Week is here! Can you believe it? How it’s already September 3rd, I have no idea. But it’s an exciting time of year for fashion, and starting today all through next week, it’s going to be crazy, fun, fast-paced and my days will be filled with nonstop shows, events and parties.
And speaking of events and parties, I am proud to share that I will be hosting an event with Marimekko next Wednesday from 5PM-8PM at their New York flagship store on 5th avenue. There will be cocktails, special savings, and I will be giving styling tips and advice on how to incorporate fall trends into your wardrobe, plus how to mix patterns, which Marimekko is famous for. You should definitely stop by. :)

For those of you just joining us, here’s a quick recap of the collaboration I am working on with Forever 21. I was recently asked to create three looks that illustrate different parts of my day to day, so I decided to pinpoint the main aspects of my work life. The first look, which you can see here, is what I would wear to a professional meeting in midtown. The second outfit, shown in this post, is a perfect example of what I wear when working as a personal stylist, which is another part of my profession in fashion. When I’m consulting women and their wardrobes, or out shopping with them, I like to be comfortable in what I’m wearing. There can be a lot of walking and schleping clothing, which in the summer months, when it’s so hot in New York, I love to wear loose fitting clothing, so a flowy dress like this one becomes the perfect uniform for me.
