The other day, I swung into this adorable vintage shop (more details to come on that soon!) with my Mom, that had amazing dresses, boots, belts, jackets and purses. This amazing striped number was one gem that I grabbed off the rack, as well as two other dresses, a fab belt and a light leafy green purse that happened to have my first initial on it! (Photos of everything to come!) Anyway, I want to know whether or not you think this piece is a skirt or shorts? Find out by clicking below!
My After Outfit: Sweet Sundress
The other night I went and had the most yummy meal at Bastille and then went out for drinks in Ballard. I decided I wanted to dress up for fun so I chose my newly hemmed dress that I found at B.E. Remember how it originally looked? Thanks to my lovely Grandmother, it is now a few inches shorter and much more wearable. I did, however, get a few comments regarding the ribbon on the original hem, asking if I was going to keep it, but I decided that the dress was more versatile with just the two colors— blue and white. (I think I will do something fun with the leftover fabric…maybe I will make a new band for my hat!) What do you think of the yellow belt? I think it helped make the whole dress pop, but may try other options in the future. Also, don’t you love those crisscross straps? And, how great is it when dresses and skirts have pockets? It’s my favorite thing.
All in all, I had a great time out on the town and felt pretty as a princess all night long!
P.S. Check out the original photo here. Side note…the dress is actually a deeper navy, but for some reason in the photo above it looks lighter…blame it on the glorious sunlight I guess! :)
My Before Outfit: Sweet Sundress
Isn’t this the sweetest little sundress you’ve ever seen? I am in love. I almost walked right past it in Buffalo Exchange but was so taken by the pattern and the crisscross straps in the back (photos to come) that I thought I’d just try it on for fun. Yay for me it actually fit and with a few inchaes taken off the bottom, it will be perfect! My lovely Grandmother volunteered to do hem it, along with a couple of my other dresses, so I am dropping them off today and should have them back later this week. So excited! Stay tuned!

This morning I drove my Mom to her doctor’s appointments (she is recovering from foot surgery :( ) and then afterwards on our way home, we swung into Buffalo Exchange. Do you have one in your town? I can’t wait to go to the one in New York when I get back! Anyway, we found some VERY cute and affordable items. Eeeeee! I am so excited! Check back frequently this week to see my new outfit creations Yay!
Remix: Stripes and Acid Wash
And, I give you…ensemble #1. This was a fun look to style…so 80s. LOVING IT. Plus, there is something I love about the contrast between the dark, bold-striped top and the sort-of-frenetic, blown-out color of the acid wash jeans. It feels unexpected and fresh. I would wear this to a fun downtown dinner spot or even to a late brunch with friends.

Remix: Personal Challenge
I have taken on a personal challenge to try and pair these two items—a vintage, leather woven top on loan from Pamela, and acid wash jeans, on loan from Jessica (see how she wore them on her blog!)—together as well as integrate them into outfits I create out of items I already own in my closet. This means by the time the work week is over, which is in two days, there will be a total of not one outfit, not two, but three outfits using at least one of the items shown above.
So, my dearest readers, stay tuned and check back again today at NOON to see the very first ensemble! Who’s excited?! Clearly, I am.
My Outfit: Vintage Treasures
Last week I spent a lovely Friday running around Brooklyn with Jessica of What I Wore, and then later on with Pamela of Market Publique, and managed to hit up both Beacon’s Closet locations. The first one in Park Slope, I got this cute skirt for $15! Afterwards, I headed to Williamsburg and got a really cute black dress from the Beacon’s there, so stay tuned for photos to come. And finally, before I was about to head back to the city, the lovely Pamela gave me these amazing shoes, which are vintage 1960’s wedge/clogs! I am completely in love.
P.S. Also stay tuned for the remixed version of this skirt…fun photos to come!
My Outfit: Beachy Weekend
