Last night I went and had happy hour drinks and eats with my life long best friend and her husband. Since I worked inside all day—minus a quick break to run errands with Dad, which included a brisk walk around Greenlake and a stop to pick up my clothes at the alterations place—I was basically in my P.J.s for most of the day. So, coupled with the fact that I was feeling a little stir crazy and I came home with what felt like five new pairs of pants (alterations really do make all the difference when you are short), I decided I wanted to take it up a notch for my happy hour rendevous. My Outfit: Black Rose
Here is yet another glorious find at Buffalo Exchange! This dress is actually new, since they do new and recycled clothing, and was totally irresistible as well as affordable. Since my first time wearing it was at night, I decided to dash outside quickly to get a shot of it and share it with you all. This time around, I opted to wear a studded belt to add a playful and interesting contrast against the feminine rose pattern. In addition to sharing my new dress, I wanted to showcase the lovely Jessica and her similar version of this double layered number. She first wore it with flats—on the left—and most recently—shown on the right—changed it up with a hip vest and belt, and sexy heels, which gives the sweet dress a totally different look. Either way, she looks pehnomenal!
My Outfit: Dreaming of Greece
Don’t you love this color? I do. It makes me so happy. Such a cheerful and upbeat shade of turquoise. I bought this tunic years ago when I traveled to Greece, and recently dug it out of my closet to bring home with me to Seattle. I have always treated it as a cover up, but decided to live what I preach and look at it with a “fresh eye.” I realized that if worn with a nude colored slip and a vest, this sheath could easily be transformed into a lightweight, summery shift, perfect for the hot summer days we have all been experiencing. So, now, I challenge you to peek into your closet and see if you can breathe new life into an old item of clothing that you usually only wear one way. I double dog dare you. Trust me, it’s fun! Let me know what you come up with!
My After Outfit: September Stripes
I am LOVING the shorter length of my new dress! Don’t get me wrong, I like to switch it up and wear longer skirts from time to time—kudos to those ladies that have lovely long legs who always look so demure in their below the knee skirts (jealous!)—but, I do know what works on my body and it is important to work with what you have, wear styles that flatter you, and love whatcha momma gave you…so, I will continue to strive for that. OK. With that said, that is only my personal opinion, so tell me dearies, what do you think of this new length? And as always, please keep it nice ‘n sweet!

My Outfit: Evening Drive
I worked inside all day yesterday without any breaks, so by the time 6Pm rolled around, I was feeling pretty antsy. I decided to go for a quick drive around the neighborhood to clear my head, listen to the radio with the windows down, and enjoy the pretty scenery in Ballard. I threw on my new favorite cut offs, a tank top and my trusty hat, and took off. When I got back, the sunlight was so lovely, that I just had to take a photograph!
P.S. I will be posting a photograph of my newly shortened purple and white dress later today, so check back in a few hours to see the final product!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you all have been having a lovely week so far. I definitely have. I have been working from home in Seattle, taking walks with my Mom, thrift shopping and eating yummy ice cream with my Dad (pictures of that to come later today!) But first, can anyone tell me if they recognize this flowered top? Well, to be honest, it is not a top at all! It’s actually a romper which I wore not too long ago. Now, I am not a huge advocate of covering a fabulous onesie, but from time to time, when you need to switch things up in the wardrobe area, try this little trick. If you slip it under a kicky little skirt, you’ll instantly have a new blouse. Plus, look at the shorts as a little under-the-skirt-insurance if the wind starts to blow!

My Outfit: Bright Blue Belt
Last week, during the crazy heat wave that Seattle experienced, I found some solace from the 100 degree weather and escaped into a very air conditioned Barnes and Noble for a few hours to get some work done. Afterwards I met my parents for dinner at a noodle restaurant across the way, but not before ducking into the H&M next door. I promised myself I was just going to browse, but instead ended up leaving with this fantastic bright blue belt. I love it because the band is elastic, which is perfect for high waisted skirts that don’t have belt buckles—it stays put without any effort. Plus, it’s colorful and fun, perfect for summer!s

My Outfit: Graphic Skirt, Version #1
As I’m sure you all know, I have about a million of these fun, flirty skirts from F21. You might recognize my pink and black version here. But, I had yet to wear the black and white one very often, so I thought it was high time I debuted it. I’m sort of loving how each photo is sort of blown out. It really makes the graphic print of this skirt pop! Anyway, this is how I decided to wear it. It was perfect for the hot and muggy weather NYC has been having, but in this outfit, I felt light ‘n breezy. Stay tuned for version #2, remix style!
